I know I'm saved because of what Jesus did for me, that I believe he did it, not because of anything I do or dont do.

I think it was in my first year after being saved. I was really still a baby in Christ and seeking teaching, so that I could grow, when I came accross Greg Laurie's sermons. I had been dealing with (and still am) depression and, while watching one of his sermons, he uttered the following words "If you have no joy, you are not saved". I looked at Mr Laurie and thought to myself "Sir, you are preaching to a congregation of thousands of saved people, amongst whom there are no doubt hundreds of people dealing with daily struggles of depression and anxiety who have no experiential feelings of joy, whom you are now categorically classifying as unsaved" I have never watched him again. He is preaching a different gospel.He is a calvinistic preacher of works and a constant inspector thereof in others. The arrogance of this man is astounding!!!

I'm so glad my husband introduced me to this channel. Before I was constantly anxious wondering if ai was really saved. Now I am secure in my salvation and use my lifeas a testament to the power of grace and faith to bring others to Christ while we wait for the blessed hope

...I'm so glad you are concentrating on Greg Lourie! I followed him in my young adult life and even attended his Church a couple times when I lived out in CA He never made sense to me... I would listen to him and then read my bible, and it never added up...I even attended a local Calvary Chapel Church.... in short, the problem with him and to a greater extent "Calvary Chapel" is that they believe in "Progressive Sanctification"... not as an encouragement and rewards system that God offers to believers through the exhortation found in scripture, but rather as a mandatory achievement to prove you are saved... big time fruit inspector... = works salvation

Hi Jesse I just watched your interview of Tom Cuccuzo and subscribed to your channel. I’ve been researching Calvinism and studying the true grace gospel for awhile. So few teach faith alone by backloading works and I’m sadly finding many of the pastors I listen to do this. Greg Laurie has been on my radar for awhile. He’s good friends with Jack Hibbs who I also used to listen to. It seems many Calvary Chapels teach similar things. I recently left my Baptist church because they started teaching Calvinist doctrine, many congregants follow MacArthur and switched to the ESV version. Excited to listen to your content 🙏✝️

It's really just becoming mind-blowing how many believe this heresy! I was just talking to a sweet elderly widow whose husband was a conservative Baptist minister for decades and she is extremely deceived. How is it so difficult to understand that the Believer has two natures...and that salvation must be by grace alone. It cannot be by grace plus works!

If Works plays any role in Salvation, it means God has to mark on the curve, i.e. Salvation according to each one's works, which means He has no "absolute" standard, which means the standard is "relative", which cannot be as we know the God of the Bible to be a God of absolutes. Absolute Truth, Absolute Love, Absolute Grace, Absolute Forgiveness, etc. His Absolute Standard = Belief in His Son, Jesus Christ

Faith = Salvation Salvation = Rapture ready Works ≠ Salvation Works = Reward, but only if saved Doing works to be saved = work never finished Therefore unfinished Works = Left behind..so that you can (never) finsh works = paradox of the unbeliever

There are really only two major points to First John. If you don't understand that it will lead to error. First John was not written so that you could go out and determine who's "really saved" and who's not. It is written for two reasons. 1. Know you are in Fellowship with God and 2. Know you have or possess Sonship with God which gives solid ASSURANCE of salvation. If you get that as you're reading it will clear a lot of things up. At least it did for me. For example, a believer who SAYS he's in fellowship but hates his brother is lying and not doing the truth. A person who SAYS they have no sin is lying and is not in fellowship with God. I also believe that many of the modern translations that use such words as "continue to sin" or "practice sin" lead to confusion. Can a real born-again person actually continue to sin or practice sins? If you know the Bible you know that a true believer still has the flesh and can yield to it. Will there be consequences? Yes and First John covers some of those consequences of being out of fellowship such as not getting your prayers answered and not having the joy in your Christian life. "These things have I written that your JOY may be full." So, what happens when you sin and don't confess? NO fullness of joy. Another consequence is that we will not have confidence before God when we are disobeying Him and our prayers will not be answered. He that is born of God doth not commit sin. PERIOD. The new nature cannot sin because it is born of God. It does NOT say he that is BORN AGAIN cannot sin. Totally different meaning!

Thank you Jesse. Biblically, there is only one necessary condition for salvation, and that is faith in Jesus Christ. This list by Laurie is not found in the Bible. It is man-centered theology made up out of thin air. The worst part is that it is a false gospel of works salvation. Tehis kind of works salvation is everywhere, yikes!

Find anything that changes in the flesh when you’re gone, but only born again believers use the spirit in the way where we don’t act on our flesh, but it’s in every day occurrence. It’s like a war.

When you look at the book of 1 John, you see him write as a gentle loving grandpa. He says "my little children" many times. 5:13 gives wonderful assurance. So when you see those confusing passages, keep that in mind. He wrote the book to give them joy and assurance. There is one point that I'm confused about though. He uses 3:9, and i do believe that's referring to the two natures as well, but what about the next verse, 3:10? It literally says "in this are the children of God made manifest, and the children of the devil".

Unfortunately, most of the 'best' of preachers fail in their discernment and 'rightly dividing' the scripture.

The only conviction that leads to faith in Jesus for salvation is rejection from Christ. After a person is saved, the Holy Spirit still would convict people of sin. This one leads to God's restoration and back into Fellowship with him. Process of santification. Not to keep nor maintain our salvation.

Despite this depiction of Laurie, he is obviously a man of God. What really bugs me about Christians who continually doubt their salvation, is that it is the ultimate insult to Jesus.. The question is, "What does he have to do to convince one?" Christians need to realize just how much dirt they are kicking on Jesus.every time they play the violin of, "Am I really saved?" hey brother trent I hope all is well i Thank GOD for y'all ministry I have a question how do I talk to a believer who is struggling with depression, anxiety, and unwanted blasphemous thoughts? They cry all the time sometimes they go through a lot of shame , guilt , and despair. I just want to know how to talk to that believer I did go back to the old testament in Scripture and seen where some of The prophets and men of GOD had even went through sadness, despair, sorrow, suicidal thoughts, guilt , shame , condemnation etc. Our Lord Jesus Christ went through sorrow and sadness too before His death And as I learn from our Lord Jesus Christ He still depended on The Father in Heaven through what He was going through. Even when all the disciples was sleeping and Jesus wanted company before His hour . But it shows when we are alone GOD IS ALWAYS THERE . Put our trust in Jesus Christ to get us through. I know I am weak but when just simply give it to GOD it is better but worrying makes it worse and tiring too . But isolation makes it worse . That's why GOD holds our hand through it all no matter how big or small. But I am going through it myself and didn't want to be saying things but giving to them hope too . But The Heart GOD shows who He is and He is Love not condemning guilting or shaming. the devil is the accuser of the brethren. GOD instills hope into our lives as believers we should remember what Jesus Christ did for us all on the cross. And keep focusing on daily go to GOD in prayer despite the brokenness but GOD is sure to heal us . How do tell that believing brother or sister in Christ who is struggling with assurance and or faith who is having a hard time to go on ?

John 3:36 KJV: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. ESV: Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. It’s hard to imagine that believeth and obey are English translations of the same word.

As long as you keep people in doubt; you will keep them coming to you for answers, because there is no assurance of ones salvation. It's a psychological attempt at a subtle control of there peace they should have with Christ. Like the Tithing doctrines they imply for guilt sake. So sad. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

Firstly you need to read the most accurate version of Gods Holy scripture to interpret scripture. King James throughout the years has rigorously stayed consistent if you do your research. There are many false teachers and preachers these (last of last of days). From the clips, Laurie is not saying you have to do these things to be saved or stay saved. He’s saying these are evidences or characteristics of a saved person. Are you saying that he is teaching you must do these things in order to be saved?

Many people add Jesus to their lives but they never get around to making Him Lord and Savior, thus, they are not Born-Again and they are not saved. Please, gently share God’s truth with these people and continue to pray for them so they may truly come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

I truly hope and pray that you read this to the end. This Calvinism (limited atonement) is a bad teaching that contradicts so many verses in the Bible that John MacArthur and several others need to stop teaching that the True and Living God of the Bible does not give man a choice. Clearly there are four kinds of "saved" people in the Bible. 1. The Chosen. 2 The Elect. 3. The Predestined. 4.Those That Will Come. The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water. But this He said in reference to the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.Also, in 2nd Peter 3 v 9 God could not be more clear when He says, "My desire is that none should perish but all come to REPENTANCE"! John Ch 5 v 39 Jesus says this. You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. BUT YOU ARE NOT WILLING to come to Me that you may have life. Does that sound like we do not have a choice? Jesus makes it clear that they can choose Him but they clearly MAKE A CHOICE BY NOT BEING WILLING TO COME TO HIM! Matthew 23 v 37…Jesus says, “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling. Sounds like they had a choice to me. Ezekiel 35 v 11...Say unto them: 'As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Also it says in Matthew Ch 22 vs 14 that "many are called but FEW ARE CHOSEN"! You have to leave out "tons" of scriptures and twist "tons" more to come to the conclusion that God does not give man a choice. Don't forget, since the beginning God has given man a choice. Anyone ever heard of Adam and Eve? How about Joshua? Joshua 24 v 15…Didn't he say, "choose you this day whom you will serve. As for me and my house, WE CHOOSE THE LORD! This I hope these next verses are the clincher. John: Ch 8 vs 23-24, Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees that want to kill Him. Again now, Jesus said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” Now, does that not convince you that Jesus truly believes that the evil Pharisees that are plotting to kill Him STILL CAN BE SAVED IF THEY WILL CHANGE THEIR MINDS AND START BELIEVING THAT HE IS THE SON OF GOD AND THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD.

I am so disappointed in Pastor Jesse. Pastor Greg is an excellent pastor, with decades of service to God & his church. To be falsely accused of being a Calvinist is a sin. Pastor Jesse is bearing false witness against his fellow pastors. I have never met a pastor who behaves so poorly. One thing I am sure of, there will be consequences to this slanderous behavior. Pastors do not criticize each other. It is not their place to do that. I believe that that kind of behavior is not necessary. There are other ways to police any profession, and public accusations without even talking to the person in question is horrible. I would never listen to anything Pastor Jesse says again. This channel has become a horror show.

They never allowed there hearts (soil) to be tilled up by Jesus to do what he wants with there life. They give him one hour a week on Sunday and live like the devil all week long. People who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Why do you call me Lord but do not do as I say.
