Week after week all the way to their wild card against TB, I thought the players would give one last hoorah trying to out physical their opponent. Ive never seen a team quit like that before. I was saying 2022 already that Eagles team had an easy schedule that left even Shane's offense a bit untested. It will be interesting to see how they react this year.

This is a great example of A Serious Problem in the NFL; Team owners are _business_ owners. Wtf do they know what makes a good coach or player? They don't! So they regress to hiring what's familiar. They look at players as lowest-echelon employees & coaches as if they were supervisors. On an NFL team? No. More like a warehouse or call centre. Supervisors are seen as a buffer between the owners & the employees. So player-friendly coaches look to them like traitors. This is why Rich Bisacchia was shown the door for the utterly inept Josh McDaniels. What happened with the Eagles is Sirianni got promoted due to seniority. But he & Todd Bowles are the Same Unimaginative Guy. They both send their teams out & may the best roster win! Neither of them have any clever ideas about how to call games, neither of them can change during games. So when Sirianni sees something isn't working, he doesn't react. At all. His mind Does Not Compute Anything Except pitting his roster against that of the other team & he's already doing that. In '22 I saw this when he almost lost to the Cardinals _that_ year. They were coming back & the Eagles changed none of the things they were doing that was allowing the Cards to mount that comeback. We saw the same thing a little in the S-B, then right from the start of this season it was apparent that the new coordinators were complete idiots more concerned with making players do what they told them to than winning. (like _MOST_ NFL coaches). & Sirianni just watched it happen like an automaton with no agency or free will. "They're The Coordinators. I don't know what to do."
