Appreciate that. I really like Drake Maye, I think he is definitely a RAW QB that needs developing but I think he can succeed. I guess I don't see the footwork as unfixable.

@@JustAnFootballGuy Also the decision making or not being that smart. What about him not being able to read an easy double lion concept? He did the worst on the whiteboard. Compared to Justin Herbert, who shocked everyone on the with everyone assuming he wouldn’t know anything because of the offense he came from. I could be wrong. I thought Patrick Mahomes was just going to be a light skin Jay Cutler. What I see is Justin Herbert without a brain.

@@ryansteve2893 I mean I think there is areas to improve on for decision making. Especially with hero ball mentality and not going deep in reads but I think that is knit picking. I think he processes well and makes good decisions. His turn over worthy plays are not bad at all. 10 for the year and at 1.9% on season avg for 2023. I think a lot of the miscues are due to the new coaching there. I was not impressed with the O-Line, just was awful. The scheme really wasn’t helping the guy out either. It wasn’t abysmal but it wasn’t good. You do see considerable improvement in decision making with the ball, from 2022 to 2023, which is remarkable considering the lack of supporting cast in 2023 and a downgrade in coaching. I think maybe what you are trying to get at, realizing after I typed all this all out haha. Is the processing is not superb. Which is fair, I really do think it’s the scheme/coaching deficiencies and not preparing him the best. He is still a raw talent. I think he needs to sit, like I don’t see him being Herbert and lighting the league on fire. Like at all. But I think with a good coaching staff, they can shape him into being an elite QB. You have to remember he played two years only. But with his situation, him dragging the team to wins. Even if it isn’t to the championship, got to give him credit and really the benefit of the doubt. He could bust and I definitely wouldn’t want him going to a team like the giants or patriots where they are expecting a guy to save them. He isn’t that. He definitely isn’t ready to do that. The Vikings is a great place for him to develop and sit for a year or two. I would watch my Drake maye video. I don’t get real specific or get into film really, but it’s how I feel on him.

I think for me, I really like Drake Maye. I don't agree with what people are saying in him so I don't see him as a bust. But I hear you though, I see that. McCarthy just doesn't have enough evidence for either or, so thats the perspective I was coming from.

If you go back and look at his tape. You will see the throws he makes that he got away with under pressure. Ones that at the NFL level would not fly. It doesn't mean he wont work out, but he has to clean that up.

I didn’t watch Hurts as a prospect, only read and heard things. But I like to think Hurts is a better runner. Maybe he had worse play under pressure. But I see the comp though

Yes that’s for sure. I would say 2 years honestly. He has the talent but like other QBs with limited experience (for him it’s passing) the process should be sitting him. Sam Darnold will be elite for maybe 3-4 games then fall of a cliff haha

He has a lot of developing to do that’s for sure. Either he sits and learns or he needs to play for 3-4 years before he could be elite. But that’s guaranteed either.

I like his demeanor, but that doens't mean he will be an elite QB
