It’s the day before my first IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) infusion! As promised, I dedicated this Vlog to answering the most frequently asked questions I’ve been receiving about my IVIG. I’m a bit nervous, but mostly excited to start this new chapter in improving my health! Thank you for joining us on our adventure today!

Hey again. If you spray Flonase on the site and let it dry before sticking on the tegaderm your skin won't react as bad. I'm allergic to adhesive and my doc had me do that.

I hope IVIG goes smoothly and is good help for you!! You're such an amazing inspiration for me and my family, especially on my bad days and when we hear something not so great from one of my doctors and I'm feeling hopeless. Seeing you and hearing about all you can accomplish despite illness helps make me feel so much more positive about my situation and have a better outlook on life

I did IVIG for about a year (one week every day every three weeks). I got very sleepy so I had to do it at home. I have autoimmune Peripheral Neuropathy and it really helped. Unfortunately the insurance company raised their premiums so high we had to change insurance companies and the new one would not cover the treatment.

I'm new to your channel and can't stop watching but you got me addicted to Cheetos which I never buy but you Bought a bag once and now i can't stop eating them and ps I'm from Canada :) keep it up I look forward to seeing your videos everyday it's the best part of my day seeing someone who doesn't let her illnesses slow her down thank you :)

if you are becoming allergic/sensitive to the tegaderm ask your home health company to send IV 3000 instead, it usually works great for people with sensitive skin, myself included! good luck with the IVIG, sending love and prayers💘

You are so inspiring! I'm trying to get answers to all my symptoms, right now the doctors are just treating my symptoms bc they're confused as to what's wrong with me so I take over 100 pills a week!

I've been binging your videos all morning to catch up :) Are you only deficient in IgA and IgM? Especially with your mast cell activation disorder, I agree with your allergist and think xolair could be really helpful for you. I know we (I'm in medical school.. haha) have learned when xolair is combined cromolyn you can really work to get those pesky mast cells under control. That way you prevent their activation and prevent degranulation as well. Also, if you IgE levels are "normal" yet you have an immunodeficiency, you might actually have a hypergammaglobulinemia of IgE. You can prevent IgG/IgM from class switching into IgE, which you will probably find if thats an issue more after the IVIG.

Plus then you don't have to wear your mask the whole time like you would at an infusion center and home is more comfortable. Plus lots of service dogs are happiest when their doing their job.

I have hypogammaglobulemia and I do ivig every 21 days like clock work. I do get a severe headache that can last up to a week if I am given my infusion to fast. I get 3 large bottles of the immunoglobulins. I go at the rate of 100-130 per hour and no more. I am there from 8am-4pm but have no headache afterwards. I am premedicated with solumedrol, benadryl, doxepin and ativan and sleep the day away anyway. Also, my immunoglobulins are all zero. Nothing. The numbers that may show up are false numbers from my IVIG.

I just had my first infusion on Monday, 2-19-18. I got a headache that night & on Wednesday I had chills, horrible body aches & vomiting for 12 hours. Today, 6 days later, I got in the car & was so dizzy, I had to pull over. It feels like I’m on a boat. I put off my second dose which was due on Sunday cause I need time to recuperate. I really hope I start to feel normal again. I’m doing the infusion for Alpha one anti-trypsin ZZ, genetic emphysema. Did you have any of these side effects? If so how long did it take to feel normal again?

hello there Jacque, I am a 14 going on 15 year old girl . i just found you on this magical place called KZfaq wich I spend my entire day on lol . but I just wanted to say that you are amazingly inspiring to me because my mom has severe lupus and a few other chronic illneses . I love how you keeo such a bright smile on your face even through the toughest of times . I dont really know how to ask a question becausw I dont want to sound rude if I say something wrong of your condition. so ill just ask this . Are you allergic to any foods ? I hope you can answer just wanted to know .

Hope all is flowing well for you and you are able to tolerate the IVIG. I do have a 2 part question for you.. now that you have officially started the IVIG, is this going to be a permanent part of your medical treatment, like lifetime, or is it something that could be stopped if your body gets reset and starts to work.. and on that same note, would you be able to quit cold turkey or is it something that has to be tapered like steroids? Thinking of you, Judd, Harlow and the nurse today!!

See I don't remember my first IVIG, I'm 25 now and my first IVIG was when I was 6 so I honestly don't remember my first treatments. Being so young I would imagine I had side effects from it. Anyways good luck on your first IVIG!!

Are you not supposed to take Ibuprofen? I was diagnosed with cancer and the chemo makes my immune system little to nothing so I can't take ibuprofen because it can effect my platelets, so do you have a problem with platelets? And I hope your ivig is doing good today!

Hi Jaquie I'm not sure if option care has told you that there is a national shortage of iv phenagren I go through option care too I'm in ky and they called me this week to tell me that I'm not able to do iv zofran I'm allergic hope your IVIG goes well

With your fluid intake you said you drink 2.5L of fluid a day. On infusion days does the amount of each infusion get counted in the 2.5L or do you include it on top of that?

when you change the needle can you leave it out for a couple of hours or do you have to put a new one in right away.

Long time watcher here and I could be wrong but I believe she puts a new one in straight away and is always accessed because if she has a angioedema attack and isn't accessed (no needle in) there is no way to administer the IV Benadryl which can cease the attack before a epi pen and hospital trip is needed.... I don't know normal port protocol but I would say that no needle in would be really risky in this case.

Chantelle Rowland She currently needs to be accessed 24/7 so she can't have any breaks...hopefully with ivig she'll be at less risk so maybe have a needle break but I'm not her so I don't know for sure lol

I did ivig and it sucked for me it gave me the worst headache on top of that I had a allergic reaction to wish ended up making me concerted clinically dead for two minutes I didn't like the side effects

Jaquie, I was wondering if you could look into captioning your videos yourself. I understand that it could be additional work, but the auto-generated captions do not have and capitalization or punctuation, which makes them extremely confusing. The captions do not follow the FCC guidelines. Also, some of the words you use like POTS and EDS get miscaptioned by the auto-generated captions. Thank you!

Also, the notes you put on the bottom of the screen are covered by the captions, so if there was a way for you to move the notes from the bottom of the screen to another place, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

It's Illegal to keep a service animal in a cart. I see it a lot but your not ever to do it. Yes they can be a real SD but that is breaking laws and can be asked to get the animal out of the cart or leave the store. So I try to let teams know this.
