My golden retriever Ellie and I head out into the woods for one of the strangest days of the winter. It begins with warm temperatures and high winds then turns to snow and bitter cold.

Jack, your camera work and editing is so good. People don't realize the huge amount of time setting up each shot and then editing it. What we see in a 10 second clip can be an hours worth of detail work. Nice job.

Maybe a longer chimney pipe with a cap on it would help prevent the wind blowing smoke into your camper.

He needs a rain cap instead of drilled hole pipe - with a cap the wind can blow hard and there is rarely any blow back - I'm 68 and have used a basic cast iron box heater most of my life - I really don't remember any blow back - a longer pipe will give him a stronger draft but he would need to add a damper to control the draft -

We all search for an outlet for the anxiety of this world - I live in a rural area and I'm not restricted to the amount of animals I have - I have 6 dogs. Presently - dogs make life much better -

We had the bad winds here but with rain. 60 mile gust. Today lots of rain. It's nice that you can just pick up your camp and move it where you want it lol. I would of been worried about the smoke too. Ellie looked so comfy in her sleeping bag. Dinner looked delicious too 🌮🌮🌮. Can't wait to see next weeks video with the family! Till then Happy trails 🤗🏕💕

Dog got the expression: peeved when the smoke blew back. Then looking on when you were moving the cabin, resigned to sitting outside until it all got sorted. I suspect she has the well-established routine of crashing out at the foot of the bed, expecting a nice, warm snooze spot.

Some other Utubers living with small wood burning stoves found out the blowback in high wind did cause their stoves to blow back smoke into their trailers sometime. That's a bummer having to move.😢 Thanks for sharing!❤that's why you want that Co2 alarm. In case that happens while you're sound asleep!!!

8:18-ish My mini stove has a similar chimney and suffers back drafting in strong winds just like yours. To fix that, I manufactured a chimney termination that has a dorsal fin and swivels on a vertical axis, it's weight resting on a pin point. The fin keeps the terminal opening downwind, preventing backflow. Aside from a squeek now and then, when the wind shifts, it works perfectly. Squeeky rapid movement can be halted by extending the length of the fin, presenting more control surface.

Look into a directional chimney stack. Prevents the wind from bowing down the chimney. You could make one easily. 😊

You might want to invest in a high wind cap for your flue it'll keep the wind from pushing smoke back into your cabin... ....love the channel...big fan

The sounds of the wood stove poping and the crackling oh and the bubbling coffee pot perking it just doesn’t get any better. Make a removable wind block out of half of a tin can that you can rotate around to the windward side of your spark arrestor it will stop the blowback and as the wind blows by it will increase the draw. They make caps for standard pipes that rotate to match the wind. Great episode pet that puppy for me God bless y’all.
