This is a great video which I've followed and successfully fixed my rear left door lock. Something for people to note, if you have passive door locks (i.e you can walk up to your car with your keys in your pocket) you will need a different part to that shown in the video. Jaguar told me i needed C2Z31364 which is a little bit more expensive because it has the passive door wiring. The process is basically the same, there are just a few more wires to fiddle with. Excellent for people DIY. I have the same problems with both the rear door on my 2008 XF. After spending $200 to get one latch, I spend time to investigate the problem. THE DOOR LATCH CAN EASILY BE FIXED BY REPLACING THE ELECTRIC MOTOR (the one with the worm gear). What happens here is the Carbon Brushes got worn out. I couldn't find the exact motor but managed to get another new motor by swapping the end bits that contain the carbon brushes(also need clean out the residue carbon on the motor communicators). It work like new again!!

Great video, thank you for the upload. I only had to use the first 5 minutes or so just to work out how to remove the door card. I had to work on the front drivers door but your video gave me some useful tips to follow. Really easy and simple to do now I know how to do it. Thank you. 😀

had the same problem on my S TYPE,fixed the rear door then a year later the front door lock actuator went fixed that today,your rear door fix looked more difficult than on the s type,great video well done.

Excellent video, it looked as though you have changed a few before my rear door has just the same fault how many more poor quality items are there on my XF i wonder!

Very good and informative video ...well done Sir, I agree with you that the mechanism isn't up to the job, sadly most cars are built with crap plastic components nowadays even expensive cars like the XF's.

My xf is a 2008 and has the button on the Handel to lock and unlock it is also keyless entry is the Jaguar XF door lock fix the same as in the video ?
