Enjoyed your video. I usually do the pipeline train in the opposite direction. Start out at Legend, hike Buttermilk and Northbank trails across Browns Island. Then Pipeline trail, across 14th street bridge and back to Legend!😅

Oh I have been the Legend may times over the years! That’s the one great thing about downtown is that all of these trails tend to intersect together so you can just go back-and-forth across the river and just see so much. Thanks for stopping by the channel. I have over 200 videos if you ever get bored and are looking for more things to watch about VA places. ~RVA

We hiked this trail yesterday and it was beautiful! Your directions were on point and your parking suggestion saved us $8!

YAS! Always love hearing that my videos have helped people! This is such a cool hike and it changes with the seasons and the water level. Sometimes the water is high and the rapids are rushing and other times it's really low exposing more of the beachy area. Glad you enjoyed it! ~RVA~

This is my favorite spot in RVA for trails.. it was closed recently for months due to repair but open again as of today!

My fav downtown urban trail for sure! Yes, today was the big day. It's such a unique spot right? Thanks a bunch for checking this one out Davin. I made 2 videos, 1 in the spring and one in the winter and it looks completely different. I have tons of other RVA hikes as well as mountain and waterfall hikes in VA, camping, dayhikes, backpacking in VA, you name it if you are ever interested in checking out more of my channel. This is an older video of mine as well. I am much better at vlogging and editing now. ~RVA~

Great video, I know that area when I go from Browns Island to the turning basin but didn't know the pipeline entrance was there. Glad I watched your video a lot of info I needed and now I know I could NEVER do that trail, that water that close would freak me out.

Water levels change from month to month and they will close it if it gets too high. But a lot of the time the water is really low, so you may want to try it then. It's cool because it comes out on Brown's Island on the other side of the pipe. Thanks for stopping by. I have tons of Richmond and VA hikes on my channel if you're looking for more. Im a chesterfield native, and ive lived in the area for 30 years. I’ve been to, and spent a lot of time at all parts of the James River Park System, but ive never been to the pipeline trail, and have been wanting to for years. I want to take my 4, and 7 year old boys with me, as they love our belle island, and other park adventures. But im afraid for them, when the handrails stop. Sad news about Texas Beach! I used to hang out there all the time when i was a teenager, and in my twenties!

Welcome to the channel! The pipeline is one of my fav urban hikes in RVA. The water level varies. When it's low it's safer to walk past where the railing ends. I have a ton of videos on hikes in Richmond and all over Virginia that may interest you. If you click on my playlists you'll see all of them.
