Great bike. Charges forward and can handle your typical trails with ease. You’ll reach the end of your travel with more aggressive enduro riding but plenty capable up until that point to keep the bike stable.

Just got one on sale here in Scotland for £799,can’t beat that spec for the money

Same here, 799 @ GoOutdoors. Didn't need one but I bought it anyway.

Bought my Merida Big Trail 600 in september last year. 3 days ago I went to GoOutdoors here in Loughborough UK and saw it for 800 quid! Bought it straight away 😂 My girlfriend wasn't too happy but it was a bargain I just couldn't miss. Yes, its all basic Shimano and RockShox but at this price point you just can't complain.

100 gallons ain’t to shabby! Every man needs a quiver. Now she has something to ride with you on 😂 very thoughtful move.

WTBs are super grippy and tough just wear a little quick. What part of the world do you ride in?

i got this in the UK a few months ago, decent build for the price and also pretty light. very happy for the price i paid 1299GBP however, one day it will have some upgrades. You guys have any in mind ?
@MTBShed10 ай бұрын
Sick! I’d do an XT shifter (now) then do XT derailleur after that. Then then XT cassette and chain. Get a quality dropper lever like Wolf Tooth lever. Also there’s a ton of deals on droppers right now like the Fox Transfer or Raceface Turbine (which literally has Fox printed on it). Lastly the most expensive upgrade down the road would be a new rear wheel with higher engagement. Onyx would be sweet or i9 for more cost efficient option.

Oh and i always slap a set of riser bars on my bikes 35-38mm ride with minimal backsweep like 8 degrees or less

I’m thinking of buying this as it is on sale for 800 pounds which is definitely a good deal no doubt but there is a polygon dse fs for 700 what do u think is better?
@MTBShed7 ай бұрын
I’m not a fan of Polygon Sisku at all. Everytime I’ve had one in the stand an issue has come up resulting from build from brakes to frame design. Jamis has solid Shimano all the way through which from a mechanic stand point is much preferred for its reliability and compatibility.

Im trying to get my 1st bike. Wanting to get into trails and jumps. Its either this bike or the Nukeproof Scout 275 Race Alloy Bike Deore10 which is a hardtail. Which one would you recommend. I feel like have a full suspension with help when i make mistakes etc?
@MTBShed6 ай бұрын
Yes, I full suspension will be far more forgiving. The suspension allows you to stay in the saddle more which is key for newer riders still building their endurance. In store, a lot of guys end up getting full suspensions becuase their riding buddy got one and they can’t keep up with them anymore. The suspension on the rear helps keep your rear in under control and allows the bike to go straight down the trail rather than bouncing all over. There is a part of MtB where you should start on a hardtail to develop skills needed for safe riding. That said every customer that gets a hardtail ends up immediately wanting to upgrade to full suspension. I’d opt for the full suspension. We don’t see many Nukeproof bikes here so I can’t speak to them. However, the Jamis is solid Shimano components down to the bottom bracket and many companies cheap out there. Geometry on the Jamis is great for a beginner especially. It’s not so slacked out that it’ll be hard to climb and steer but it’s slack enough to give you confidence on downhills.
@MTBShed6 ай бұрын
Oh and I’m a big fan of 27.5 bikes but most people aren’t. A 27.5 is fine on a full suspension but not for a hard tail. The big 29” wheels are helpful to get over stuff if you don’t have suspension helping.

@@MTBShed Awesome! Thanks for the Info :) Just went to the Jamis bike and they only have Size M, im 183cm, and i think il need a large so im a bit stuck on that lol
@MTBShed6 ай бұрын
@@RagingGamingBear I’m 182cm and I prefer mediums but it’s hard to say without knowing your body type. The Jamis does have a slack seat tube and reach feels long. Me personally, I’d get a medium BUT for you a large might feel better. Unfortunately they don’t have a large for you to compare but I tend to size down newer riders if they are in between sizes. This allows for more stand over room. Trails aren’t flat and new riders tend to stop or put a foot down more which could be off the side of the trail lower than flat ground. Having the extra clearance from the medium could be helpful. Again hard to say without seeing you on it and sometimes it can be hard to trust the guy trying to sell the bike. I’ve blown so many sales being honest just for customers to go to other shops, be misled, and buy a bike that wasn’t right for them.
