I honestly don't know how absolutely NO ONE has recognized and called Daniel out on his PTSD. The man is going thru a personal emotional hell and he is in need of some intense PTSD therapy. I'm glad Jessica finally set Amanda straight about what happened with Silver and how he terrorized and brutalized everyone who crossed his path. Seriously, if Jessica received 1/10 of what Daniel experienced and she is still having nightmares 30 years later, we can only imagine what Daniel is experiencing.

I didn't see it as Daniel blaming Amanda or others, is that he just thinks they are all blind to Terry Silver and what he's capable. In Daniel's mind, he's the only one who see's Terry Silver for who he is. The only person who seems to trust his judgement is Chozen. Of course, how he's handling it is wrong because he's still allowing Silver to get inside his head like he did back in the third Karate Kid movie and he's going off the rails a bit which is what Ralph Macchio said what would happen to chis character this season.

This is definitely my favorite episode so far, everyone's characters were on point! It was so great to see Johnny help Miguel and Robby work things out, Sam and Anthony growing closer as siblings, Amanda finally understanding the real danger Silver represents, and the coup de gras of Silver having succeeded in driving Daniel so far to the brink that he is, for the first time in the series, truly desperate. Plus the fights were amazing! My face hurt from all the impacts.

2:34 He's not blaming on anyone. He is literally saying the logical truth.. "How can she not see through him." He's one step behind Robby where Robby has the attitude "I'm done. You can continue to be brainwashed. I don't care." the previous step is where Daniel is at where he cannot believe how Amanda cannot see what Silver is doing. And it's a very real frustration. It's not blaming anyone. It's being completely confused and shocked at how someone cannot see the truth and what is really happening. Manipulators like Terry Silver always do this to honest people. They can somehow always get people to trust them and get people to turn on honest people. I know how Daniel feels very much in this scene.

I love watching your reactions to this show! To answer your question about bringing kids to a place where alcohol is consumed, it really depends on what kind of place it is. There are some nightclubs and other establishments that are definitely places you wouldn't take kids to, and there are others that it would be perfectly normal to see whole families at, at least during the day. The place in this episode looks like a bar with a restaurant, which would serve food and soft drinks as well as alcohol, and it wouldn't be unusual to see parents bring their kids there.

A huge part of Johnny’s story has been him learning to accept his own responsibility for his problems and struggling to be better, while acknowledging that the road between “I’ve got to be better” and “I’m actually doing it” is long, difficult, and full of setbacks.

It's very touching that Miguel and Robby are able to reconcile through realizing what happened in the past was just a series of nasty accidents that neither of them really wanted for the other. I don’t think Daniel is blaming anyone at all in S5. He just knows Silver and the only one that seems to see it with him is Chozen. Everyone else seems to think it’s just not plausible and is brushing it aside. Daniel is being more aggressive this season, however the game is being played at a much higher level this season so it matches. His arc is great this season, kind of brings it all back to the original where it’s about him. However the show does a great job balancing and keeping the other arcs very strong and relevant. I think the teen relationship angle is a little less important this time around which I’m fine with. The teen drama is a bit eh…Anyway, those are my thoughts.

I know I'm late to the party but that last fight between Terry and Daniel was something I was waiting to see since I watched The karate kid part 3 like 18 years ago. The man who plays Terry silver actually has a black belt and is a real martial artist so you can see how believable his techniques are in the fight he doesn't try to showboat, but rather do the most damage in the most realistic way. That's why I favorite Terry silver and it's hard for me to admit he would lose to anyone fairly in the Cobra Kai series. I always get into arguments with people who think Chozen could be Terry and I just don't see that happening with how good Terry actually is. I wish we had a different Terry silver who was actually trying to be redeemed like the first seven episodes of season 4. He had the potential to be the best sensei in the series but Kreese triggered his trauma and he unleashed a monster. I really hope in season 6 we can see Terry silver start a path to becoming a changed man and actually helping Daniel and Johnny but I don't know how that will turn out unfortunately

Daniel-san has always had a TRAGIC flaw in his fighting, he's too linear. he gets stuck in "runway" mentality and forgets that you can fight in a 360degree arc.

One section would be the dining area where kids are aloud and the other section is the bar. At these type of places are kids are welcome however they are obviously not allowed at the bar. Hope this answers the question

I'm still surprised Daniel never tried the pressure points technique on Silver. _Maybe_ Terry just had him that thoroughly psyched out, but ... It's also possible that the writers may never bring up the technique again (much like the two-legged kick from Season 1) in the hopes that viewers forget about it.

I've said before S5 is way better on the second watch, and the scene with Johnny and Daniel is honestly one of the key points. It's not too often a series gives characters the amount of development and hurdles that Cobra Kai does, and actually continues on that. After 5 seasons of these two clashing and trying to bond, it's beyond cathartic to finally see them both come together peacefully to talk out their issues and in a way give each other the clarity to properly resolve them

yeah the one failing of this season is breaking and entering specifically by daniel. dude trespassed twice into a house owned by his enemy terry silver, all it takes is a call to 911.

Terry Silver' actor, Thomas Ian Griffith, is a real martial artist. He has black belts in tae kwon do and kenpo karate. He's also 60 years old in that end fight scene. And about 198 centimeters tall. That's 6'5" for us Americans. Ralph Macchio, who plays Daniel? He's 179.07 centimeters. Or 5'8 and 3/4. Basically, Daniel's eyes come up to Silver's shoulder.

9:45 There might not have been max power in that kick, but that would have still really hurt. It's a world of difference getting kicked in the face with a bare foot versus someone still wearing their shoes.

I think "aits" comes from hearing people going "HUH-TSS" when they throw a punch. I know i was given strange looks because mine was loud and they were telling me to just say "hawtzzz" or something like that

2 kicks does have less power but its not weak, the first kick is just a set up and basically just a tap the 2nd kick you turn your hips all the way over and thats the one with power

I think crescent kicks were for parrying sword strikes when wearing wooden shoes.
@FredKuneDo

Not very likely. In historical Karate it seems that the "crescent kick" from "outside to inside", Mikzuki Geri, was meant more like close range hook while grabbing the arm of someone. The modern use in Kyokushin and Korean styles like Tang Soo Do, Hapkido or Taekwondo may be a new development of the 20th century, like most acrobatic high kicks.

I don’t understand why Johnny didn’t go after Miguel and Robby once the fight got serious. He should know from experience that his words don’t stop them fighting. Robby could’ve got sent off the railing and Johnny just stood there. Also you are so right about bringing kids to a bar, that’s completely irresponsible!

Those kinds of restaurants/bars are quite common. Well, where I live. Been to several. Usually they'll have separate sides, where adults can get a drink and the other side where families, youth, kids can eat.

When they made it to the 2nd floor and perilously close to the railing, I think Johnny was frozen in disbelief for a moment. I also think he might have stayed on the ground so he could catch whoever got kicked over. Honestly that's probably what I would have done. Everything was happening so quickly, he would've never made it up there in time to stop someone from falling. Better to be a spotter below the railing and try to mitigate the damage as much as possible...

@@adamlone5548 kinda risky depending on your size/weight, catching someone from that height would probably break most people's back. not many would make such sacrifice (ofc if its a loved one its a different story, certainly not with strangers 😂)
