The new series Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story may have landed the number one spot on Netflix, but it wasn’t popular with everyone. Angry family members of Dahmer’s victims say the controversial drama re-traumatized them and romanticized the notorious serial killer. You’ve seen Hollywood’s version. Today, Dr. Phil is telling the real story and meeting the real people who say they knew the real monster that was Jeffrey Dahmer. In an exclusive interview, hear from the sister of one victim who says the series glorified the man she calls “Satan,” as well as two men who say they were tortured and terrorized by Dahmer and survived. Jeffrey was a sick and twisted man. On the surface, he appeared gentle and kind but behind closed doors he killed and assaulted many people. I’ve never seen someone with such a two faced personality. It’s unbelievable. Maybe it’s just me but It’s crazy how a person can put on an act so well, like in one of his interviews in 1993.

No one is glamourizing or glorifying what these killers have done, but like it or not. This has been a thing for decades, since the 60’s, 70’s when serial killers really took off. I don't think creating a show glamorizes anything. All famous killers will have a show. Our society may find entertainment in these shows, but most people aren't idolizing the killers. We are being educated on the story, even if aspects aren't exactly correct.

I agree, and I think they did a good job in telling the story with what they had. I didn’t feel for Dahmer at all during the show? I felt for the victims, their families but also Dahmers family. I didn’t know much of what Dahmer had done before watching the show. It doesn’t glamorize anything in my opinion. It just shows what a sick human being can do to others and get away with it for so long.

@@kazimierzmalewicz3604 no one can or will say Dahmer wasn't a manipulative monster, but there are many inconsistencies when it comes to Capshaw's stories. Dahmer also had a body type that he was going for, that was how he chose his victims, and Capshaw doesn't fit that stereotype, not even remotely. There are others who actually spent a night with Dahmer and were drugged but not killed, yet no one spoke of torture. Even when Dahmer gave a full confession about his crimes, almost everything he did to the bodies was postmortem. So yeah, Dahmer was a monster and a killer but what Capshaw says doesn't fit the profile what so ever. To me it seems he's just trying to make some money out of the whole thing.

I don't think he would have wanted help. He liked himself and who he was before the police got a hold of him. No one can be forced into therapy. Sometimes a monster is just a monster. Their is no point or rhyme or reason to evil.

He had plenty of chances to get help. He rejected all. I can judge him for taking lives of men and boys for his sick selfish fantasies. Disgusting pos

yes, especially to ask them exactly when did they saw victims last day, and why it`s no any inormation about victims in Social Security files at all. Who had removed all information, ad why it was used fake identities about victims. And much much more. I think victims families know much more than it was told in court.

You don’t have to watch the show to be constantly reminded of it. It’s being talked about everywhere. Have a little empathy and common sense.
