She sings this better live than the "official version". Yeah Jennifer owns this one. jesus this was almost 40 years ago. The absolute greatest decade of music. Absolutely. When I first heard this I was driving. Had to pull over. Not many songs could do that to me but this was one of them.

Hey, don’t feel bad, neither did I until a couple of years ago, when I saw the video for this song. I had always thought that Celine was the original singer. Anyway, back to your point about missing something; every time I hear this song, it makes sad: that I missed her in her prime, that I feel like I missed something in the 80’s, and sad because it makes me miss the 80’s. I was a young adult in my 20’s when the 80’s started (20-29/80-89). Only this song makes me miss the 80’s.

Weird, I'm listening again to Jennifer and its 2023, as I listened, and as per usual I thought how magnificent she sings and the strength , then I thought in one moment listening with amazement ,heck she must be an opera singer, then I pass through the comments and read Ricky Tan from 4 years ago calling her opera vocal so powerful, she is full of passion singing that song, no one else can handle it, magnificent. Of course. not replaceable. One of us almost always goes first, Jenifer. With me it was my spouse after 30 years to dementia. Alone now and we are not meant to be. My Mom lived for 18 years after my Dad passed. And I thought about that every single day until she eventually passed. We only exist but our happiest days on this rock are now behind us.

This is the first I see any of her videos, had several tapes. This woman is simply unbelievable!! Natural talent and blessed with alto voice chords and soprano cranial resonance. Her full range must be astonishing. She doesn't sing, she lives it and connects! Crazy for the laughter of enjoyment in her eyes when she sings. And it just happens!! No effort. Divine talent indeed.

Nobody can come close to her rendering of this' or any of her songs.. nobody has as sweet a voice' and noone is as beautiful and' noone moves like this so much of a woman in every way' I would not be surprised if written on the bottom if her foot' on the sole of her feet are the words "made in heaven"

The times I played 'The power of love' over and over again back in the 80's, as to me Jennifer Rush is the definitive singer for this song. Others have done their own versions like Celine Dion, Laura Brannigan and a few others, but never quite match up to the strong, powerful and wonderful voice of Jennifer. Definitely one of the best songs of all time. Even now listening to her singing still brings up the hairs on the back of my neck, and maybe watery eyes as well. She is still singing now I believe, so pretty good for a 60 year old.....:)

Ich war 3,4 Jahre alt als meine Mutter dieses Lied Tag ein Tag aus hörte, nun bin ich 39 und ich höre es noch immer gerne (und meine Mutter auch). Ihre tiefe, warme, soprane, vibrierende Stimme geht bis ins Rückgrat, was eine Stimme! Keine andere Interpretin kommt auch nur ansatzweise an ihre Performance heran. Wow, jedes Mal wenn ich sie höre, ist es so als ob Zeit und Raum an Bedeutung verlieren, man befindet sich in einer anderen Sphäre wenn man ihr zuhört ❤️
