the SAS is a fine stylus profile but the excessive vta of the cantilever pushes the cartridge generator geometry out of spec , this in turn causes an artificial brightening of the sound and measurable loss of instrumental tambre of middle and bass instruments . they are in fact flawed and cause losses of the very important lower middle and upper bass registers due to the misalignment . if Jico go back to the manufacturer spec for cantilever vta , the sound balance is improved and the sas tip would be better exploited . they could even offer both options for those who like the artificial balance and who want the correct balance .

What qualifies u to know what sounds correct... LPS sound different some warm some neutral some bright... And oversimplifications about accurate sound....The standard cartridge is warm and dull not natural at all

one does not need qualified other than to hear and share opinion , my comment holds true under measurement , yours does nothing but show hypocrisy. the "standard " cartridge is not warm and dull , it is even handed and quite accurate in response , its everything else in the chain that will cause warm and dull and the SAS stylus may compensate for that like tone controls . @@matthewtaylor7355

For me the final Shure cartridge is warm and fizzy, a decent beginers cartridge. Shame Shure did not leave the field with the V15 type VI. They got out about when vinyl had a renaissance.

The original stylus sounds more natural.

The Shure stylus sounded muffled in the sound range. I also noticed some slight sibilant with the Shure stylus. Price for the Jico stylus? I do not recall any rave reviews for the last Shure cartridge, and I can hear the weaknesses of the stock Shure cartridge. The up-grade stylus sounded good to my ears.

I smoked a little specification... Jico SAS has such a sharpening that the contact area is smaller and the fit in the groove is deeper. So it works better on HF, which was confirmed. Jico SAS sounds brighter by ear in this video. I captured sound from this video and compared identical fragments... the graphs clearly showed this, although for Shure if you add +6dB with the Treble knob, then the frequency response will approach Jico SAS, it may not sound with such resolution like Jico SAS, but in a blind test it is probably difficult to distinguish. Although true audiophiles (not me) do not use equalizers))). I just turn the knob and in 90% I will be there (near Jico SAS sound) with my Shure stylus.

Искажения последнего трека все равно будут выше у shure и ручками это не исправить

I prefer the stock Shure elliptical here. More bloom, meat and better imaging and hall sound. The JICO may need some break in and possibly the tracking angle to be optimised. Or it is just possibly not a good choice here. Sandy - the Aging Boston Audiophile

Shure is way better ...............possible misalignment of the SRA with the SAS.............. Anyway sound is better without the brush !!!!

32 degree VTA? That's way off the 20±5 degree standard

Having said that and now that I hear it more, I think I prefer the Jico

The Jico is significantly better overall.

Jelco livelier faster etc. Shure congealed, flat boring.. Like the 97xe generally

Stock Shure sounds neutral, more natural.

Sounds like the Jico is not tracking right, it should be set to 1.7 grams VTF. Shure should be set at 1.5 grams.
