I can't believe that the audience would be so rude as to talk during his performances here and numerous other times too. It's fn John Mayer and he is so tolerant..l would have been so honored to be in the presence of this legend of a musician that l couldn't speak..those are lucky people.

I would be running around punching everyone talking during this performance...

@svampbob13 hes my favorite musician. ive seen him 8 times. that doesn't mean i have to love every song and listen to his music with deaf ears. i hate the song home life, i skip it every time i listen to heavier things. i could care less for sucker and quiet. does that mean im not a fan? i like the fact that hes trying to do something different rather than put out the same record every 2 years. i miss the great guitar lead he typically has. i dont know, these are early versions...we'll see!

I feel like this song is more about him as a music fan wanting someone to write and record some real music that is gonna last. "Play a song that we can sing, Make us feel as we are free, Someone come speak for me." I actually think that it is a pretty innocent song about feeling like he has no one writing songs that he can relate too. Maybe writing for his teenage self.

@enoka12 there is always a transition from his acoustic version to his studio versions to make it suitable for the mainstream audiance, e.g. YOU :p The song in this way can only be appreciated if you are a fan of old-style music, and an acoustic guitar player yourself. Don't worry, pino paladino, steve jordan a few other geniuses and a beautiful piano will be playing over this track pretty soon.

@myliachambers if you listen to the song, the lyrics mean a completely different thing to Taylor Swift's song, "Speak Now". I'm pretty sure it was a coincidence the titles are alike. (and how do we know that the song is even called 'speak for me' for sure?) Anyway who cares if Taylor Swift dated him? See if you can relate the song to your own life rather than to a celebrity's.

i think its is about Taylor swift. For one, he did say her song about him was a low blow and that he was at his lowest.
