Here is a workout from week 3 of my max strength training cycle. The exercises done were:
Clean Pulls
Low Box Squats
RDL's
Single Leg Calf Raises
The goal is to peak my vertical jump for a FIBA 3x3 dunk contest in Montreal next week!

Isaiah, seeing what you can do gave me motivation and I can dunk at 15 years old. It took a whole year of training but it was something I never believed would happen until I saw what you have achieved. I am never going to stop training now. Thank you.

Awesome vid! My lifting PRs are about the same at yours but my vert is only 31”, I weigh about the same as you and I’ve tried more explosive exercises but I’ve had no luck 😢

I did single leg squats around a week or 2 ago because I don't have way heavy weights...sure helped me jump higher and feel less fatigued when walking a lot.I mite add single leg calf raises...I do do pogos sometimes tho

What if knee pain levels doesn't get worse while slow strenght progression, but also wont get down? I think i am on a 3-4/10 since i started this loadmanagment now. Last loadmanagment cycle, it was like 0-2/10.

I am going to start doing box squats. Trying to dunk at 42. I have never been a jumper, but came close in high school.

I think he said when lifting legs 3 times a week he dunks 1 day and when lifting 2 times a week he'll dunk 2 days. Not sure where in relation to the lifts though.

Isiah I've been watching since 2018.. I just recently tore my acl complete tier 3 rupture. 1 month ago at 28yrs old im 6'5 240 athletic jumper.. whats the best way after recon surgery to get my bounce back? Is there even a chance I will get back to high level jumping?

Do you have access to a gym ? If not do jumping squat, jumping lunges, calf raises, tibialis raises.

basically any movement that can help you throughout the jump, if you don't have a gym do some isometric exercises to strengthen your tendons which are super hyper mega giga important for preventing injuries

Hey Isaiah I’m 14, my Squat 1RM is only 190 Lbs (180 Lbs Bodyweight). What do you think is an appropriate 1RM to achieve before I start getting into jump squats? Or should I just focus on Jump Squats and other power focused exercise instead of raw strength

I am at 41. I don’t know what your fitness background is. I never stopped being very active, so I can still do all this stuff. I just shorten stuff up some.

i turned 15 recently and can grab rim at 5'8, but ive encountered some back pain in my lower back particularly in the right side after doing some heavy squats, any tips ?

try squat with better form and try not to go down too far. If your lower back hurts try hang on a pull up bar every time it feels stiff or hurts, been having the same problem for the past few months and its been fixed now cos of these changes i made

not isaiah, but 'd not recommend plenty of time for that later, after your natural body growth stabilises. before, there's lots of body-only / calistenics type stuff for your physical dev-t, if u ask me )

Don't drop metal plates. If you're using bumper plates like Isaiah, though, then it's no problem.

Hey, i tested my vert 1,5 month ago and it was 28 inches, ive been doing calf raises with both legs 6 times 100 and with one leg 3 times 40 6 times a week, but ive seen almost little to none improvement in my vertical, why?

You’re vertical will not increase by just doing calf raises, especially not in a month and a half. You have to implement various plyometric exercises into your training so look into them, btw you already have a decent vertical so it’ll take longer for you to see noticeable results but if you train hard for a year you could possibly get to around 35 to 36 inch vert

@@Ak-nq7ic Okay thanks, i was suprised because like 4 months before the vert test i was doing a little less calf raises and at that time my vert was probably like 24 inches so im suprised why in 1,5 months ive seen almost no improvement.
