Nice run through. The "good" scene you did earlier on was very effective.

@@MusicZeroOne do you use your Juno X with a DAW? If so, which do you use and how well does it integrate Regards Steve

@@stevewilkinson5497 I use an Akai Force, so the Juno gets triggered from that. It uses midi channels 1-4, over USB, for each part to the Juno. So I imagine any DAW would be the same. I only use a DAW (StudioOne now) to capture the audio from my mixer.

Good video! Looks like Roland did a good job with the Juno X. Such a grand sound and a very nice interface on the Juno. Glad they included the Juno X engine on the XM too. Wish Roland would have included bigger screens on the Juno and Jupiter for my old declining eyesight but there’s always something to niggle about.

Thanks. Yeah, my tired old eyes wouldn't complain either! I find, knowing 'where' you are at a given time is the challenge. The actual work isn't difficult, it's just navigating the structure. Hope you're enjoying the XM :)

What a great run through wow, excellent playing and sounds. Now I’m really conflicted between the Yamaha MODX6+ and this beauty, any suggestions and guidance? I am a newbie, so I do want to learn to play piano, but also have this arsenal of sounds just out of this world.

Thanks for the kind words. I've no experience with the MODX, but it does seem excellent and probably a good fit for you. Unless you really really want those Roland sounds, you are maybe better going for the MODX. Hope that helps

Thank you for this insightful review. Regarding is it worth it - I do kinda agree with you. If you only ever work in a DAW you might just get away with the Roland Cloud VSTs. Then again I feel it is very refreshing to not sit in front of a DAW and just play way on a keyboard. So yeah, the Juno-X might make more sense if you are looking for an instrument. Also, I feel from my own experience that many MIDI-controllers are quite often not so great to use. Be it the keybed or the controls integration (filter, envelopes, etc) - a hardware synth often provides good working integrated controls. Even if Roland quite often produced hardware synths with confusing interfaces - I feel the Juno-X is in a good spot. I wonder, however, how easy or difficult it would be to really mess around with Zencore on the Juno-X? But I guess it might be more efficient to work on a Zencore sound in your DAW + VST and then just export the sound to the Juno-X?

Thanks, great comment. I personally found editing Zen on the unit ok. Not ideal, but certainly not an issue. But starting a patch from scratch, probably easier via the editors. Then tweak using the hardware. Thanks 🙏
