There's lots more to see at Lanse aux Meadows now. Very interesting place. And St. Anthony's is a really nice town. Sad to see it decline.

100% THIS. Not only tourist infrastructure but they should also market themselves as a hub for factories which is a win-win: make a deal for cheap location costs/ tax breaks for factory owners and good pay for workers = economic boom.

Being **reliant** on tourism before covid was a terrible idea, and it's an even worse idea now. Tourism should be a part of your economy but not the dominant part, otherwise, your future's going to be built on sand.

Why so sad? There have been lots of towns that are abandoned do to economics or freeways by passing a town and it no longer gets enough money to survive. It's just change. I'll tell you one thing my husband has had 4 major carriers. Each change do to economics. But no oh wow is me, just hitting the pavement and reinventing him self to keep his family feed.

There you go playing the blame game. It's always someone else's fault. Not just plain and simple economic change. My husband and I drove a long haul truck. Sorry can't remember the town may have been in Canada . But we picked up tanned cow hides and took them to Mexico. At the front of this plant was the story of how this plant go there. They said that this was a farming community for many years. But as the kids grew up and no longer worked the farms and left the town was dieing. So they had many meetings on what to do. One farmer donated his land and they all started to make inquiries for a business to come in. Hence the tanning co. which employed many and this supported the town shops. So pull up your big boy pants and don;'t sit around waiting for someone else to solve your problems.
