Man David you are making me hungry for Christmas cookies with all those notes. I have 6 different K. Luke offerings but I need a toasted rye which should be coming soon (batch 3). One thing is for sure it will be easier to find than the Michter’s toasted 🥃🥃😎

Those Christmas cookie note was an addicting note 😆. I wish K.Luke was available here in CA as I need to order through seelbachs, which is hard as they sellout quickly. Maybe this year they'll be able to expand 😎. Have a wonderful memorial day weekend and cheers ~

Great thorough review as always David! I have the Michter’s Toasted Rye, but only a few pours left in the bottle. The only K.LUKE’s I have are several bourbon batches and batch #2 Toasted Bourbon. Would probably buy the K.LUKE Toasted Rye if I ever run into it for MSRP. 🥃

Hey Dave! I love their bourbon batches and even the toasted bourbon as well and maybe I was expecting too much due to those but this one was good but not up to the level those set. Maybe my palate was off that night and will need to revisit it very soon~ Have a peaceful memorial day weekend and cheers~

Funny that you released this today. I just picked up a Jack Daniels SB Rye for the Holiday weekend. I normally don't drink rye, but it was on sale, so for $59.99 I figured I would give it a try! Nice review! Sounds pretty decent but I have several rye bottles that are really nice! The Michters rye’s are exceptional!

Thanks for the honest review. I have put everything by K Luke in the “try before buy” category due to the high prices and lack of age statement and blend/mash bill information. I have heard good things about the bourbon batches so hopefully I can find a way to try them. Cheers!

Another great comparison. Kluke is doing great things. Their rye definitely has some spice kick. I definitely like the Michters more. Especially at the price points.

Don't know where you came across that KLuke, it being so few bottles in a run. (You probably said in one of your monthly acquisition videos but I can't remember yesterday let alone weeks ago ) ;-) Nice to know that JD BP rye is still one of the top ryes going, especially for the price of @ $65. If anyone is looking for a barrel proof rye ... there you go. I do hope more viewers become contributors to your endeavors. Your straight forward manner in which you do reviews and hearing the thoughts of a fellow So-Cal whiskey enthusiasts is appreciated. Thanks for the effort and time you spend creating this content. D

But yes, Jack Daniel's barrel proof rye is just so wonderful in all matters (experience, price, allocation). Great review David. I really enjoy K.Luke but passed on the toasted due to price. After this vid I am glad I did. So many great bottles out there that $120 for this K.Luke didn’t seem worth it. A toasted JD SBBP Rye would be fantastic

Great review. I have loved the few Kluke bottles. But I have never tried their ryes. I have heard a brand Down Home has a very good toasted rye but let’s face it. Hard to take down the king. Michters

I recently picked up JDSBBP Rye TW store pick. This has been the only Rye whiskey I have truly enjoyed. How would it compare to the Michter toasted rye? The only Michter unicorn I chase is bombergers. Cheers.

Hey Jonathan! JD barrel strength rye is a bit more complex with more pronounced fruits while the michters toasted rye is a bit sweeter and a bit more oak. JD BS Rye is just a wonderful value and it's going to be hard to beat 😆. Have a wonderful memorial day weekend 🇺🇸 and cheers ~

K.LUKE 가 MGP 소싱이군요. 그래도 역시 Michter's군요. Michter's는 역시 Rye를 잘 만드네요. 2주일 전에 Michtyer's Rye 10years를 마셨는데 감동적이었습니다. JD SBBP Rye보다 도수는 낮지만, 훨씬 섬세한 맛이어서 오랫동안 입에서 넣은채 느끼면서 마셨어요.

I like it 😆 but maybe I was expecting too much due to the goodness of their barrel strength bourbons and even the toasted bourbon. I guess that shouldn't factor into it but at that price, I was hoping it would be on par with michters. Oh well, maybe 3rd time is the charm with their batch 3 coming out soon! @@WhiskeyBank cheers. I haven’t seen this K Luke release. I almost pulled the trigger at Partysource in NKY on a K Luke batch 8 but I bought the Peerless Toasted Batch 1 instead that day.

@@noworldforeric both would have been a great choice as I haven't had batch 8 yet but 7 was a great pour and worth the money 😆. I have not had the Peerless toasted but let me know your thoughts as that is also a pricy bottle as well 😎

@@WhiskeyBank If you've had any other Peerless stuff and enjoyed, I would say the trigger can be pulled. It was 125 at the distillery but I got it for 99$ and I would say it's worth every penny. I like that it has proof even though it is a toasted. Compare it to the EC Toasted (which is great) it adds more complexities to the flavor because it's around 110 proof instead of 94.
