My thoughts on Kanye outside of music is that his politics are populist and whether or not it lands on either left or right isn't distinguished by Kanye. I want Kanye or anyone in his camp to introduce him to actual leftist speakers and politicians, not liberal ones.

Kanye, without the religion lol, is very Nietzschian to me with him saying that life is a videogame and losing can be fun and that reminded me of the eternal recurrence of if you had to life your life again and again would it be a blessing or a curse basically, he’s now viewing it as a blessing, as I get to go to Lisbon, not I have to. But he’s very Nietzschian to me. Loved your take!

i don’t think you need to take kanye so literal in the point abt us being born white supremacists and such, i think he’s referring more to the system and structure of our current society rather than a priori knowledge. i could be wrong though.

You have a distinct personality, but when your hair is all messy, you do sometimes remind me a bit of James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem - that is, from earlier in his career before his hair went white. That’s just me, though. It doesn’t at all take away from the enjoyment I receive from these videos - I just wanted to share. Any thoughts on LCD Soundsystem’s work? 😝

watched the interview right after i watched eternals (which i would love to hear your opinion on) i really enjoyed seeing that side of ye and just having 2 hours of him just vibing was amazing

He kept referencing that they should have killed him after the George bush incident and that he is prepared for them to take him out any time. That made me sad.

8 month old video you probably won't see this message, but I really appreciate your videos. I appreciate your humility when you say your work is for future writers to source from. I think you ARE the writer in a loose tech landscape of opinions and hasily-composed essays floating in the internet. I love Kanye for better or worse. When I think about Kanye I think about him in the same terms you do. I've written schizo freakout ramblings about what I thought he was REALLY doing with certain album releases, what I saw in him that nobody else saw when he was rolling out the 3 Donda shows, etc etc. I think there's always something deeper to his work. He's great at moodboarding and culling together like-concepts to spring from. I love reading analysis of who he pulled inspiration from for a beat or a stage piece.

Love this analysis on the interview. I think that Ye has found some insight on life (an enlightenment of some sort) & the reason for him getting bad haircuts to his hair (changing his name to Ye too) is because he is ultimately letting go of his past self. Under our late stage capitalism structure we are in, we are made to be a certain way under our environment, so him cutting off his former self he is essentially reborn. Ye is born again, just like many Buddhist do.
