Visiting the Ohau Waterfall in Kaikourna New Zealand and watching the baby seals play in the waterfall has been the top highlight of our RV trip through New Zealand. We sat and watched the baby seals play for at least an hour! It was the coolest nature moment I have ever experience!

Guys it is with great great sadness that the seal sanctuary you visited here was destroyed in a massive 7.6 magnitude earthquake that struct the top half of the south island at 12:02 am Monday the 14th November 2016. So pleased we have this video to remind us all of the beauty of nature that cant be replicated anywhere else on gods earth. The region of Kaikoura is still cut off by massive landslides on the state highway in and there was wide spread damage. The people of New Zealand are resilient & will rebuild their lives and infrastructure all we ask is you the travelling public visit our amazing country helping us along the way. Go well guys peace luv & stay safe.

I can't even believe they were real. It looked like something out of National Geographic. You were so close you could literally _pet_ them. Amazing. Seriously, one of the cutest things I have EVER seen. I may have to replay this video a few more times just to watch them frolic and play. 😍😍

I have lived in NZ for 5 years and road tripped round it a few times. I can't believe I didn't know about the incredible place. Sadly it is unsafe now due to earthquakes. You guys are awesome and I love your channel been watching from the beginning and have got to Everest so far! Come back to NZ one day there is so much more to this beautiful country!

@@aimeewright2721 I found the numbers don’t tally either. Several times they seem to skip a number. I started from there “watch from the beginning “ playlist I’m currently just Ed watched 106 then then next one says 108 but their story seems to care on smoothly as if I’m not missing anything? Very strange

We were so lucky the pups came back after the quake. Kara and Nate were so lucky the didn't come in tourist season

Visited here in early December 2015 on our first full day in NZ having flwon in to Christchurch and spent the first night in Kaikoura. What an introduction to a country that just keeps on giving, a new wow round every corner and over every hill! Can't wait to return to NZ and spend longer there.

That is a great place. I have never seen seals in a forest or fresh water. But it is safe with no natural predators so it's a great idea for whatever seal first discovered that.

If you ever decide to travel the US You should try the San Diego to Seattle Hwy 1. You will see coast lines as pretty as New Zealand and Australia, with seals and sea lions, magnificent cliffs, ferns, cypress and great food.

You guys are so lucky! I went to Kaikoura in 2013 and hiked up to the waterfall, but there were no pups. No seals on the beach, either! I was supposed to go back to NZ this year, and I planned a redemption trip to Kaikoura... but then COVID happened! I guess it was not meant to be.

Shopping trolleys get locked here in UK, too, just like that. And that waterfall with baby seals are supercute! It’s a pity that it got destroyed in the earthquake. I hope it can be rebuilt somehow.

would you recommend April for visiting New Zealand? I'd really love to go there one day, but as a teacher, I'm stuck to school holidays... so I could travel for 2 weeks (obviously I would want to do your first and second tour :D ) during the Easter holidays or be more flexibel in the summer (mostly July). Flights in the summer are always so expensive and if I remember correctly Kara mentioned the baby seals coming to the water fall in April? thanks for your blogs! I've watched most of them, but not in order, so I started with #1 3 days ago and I can't stop (sleep who?)

You don't have your carts lock up in Nashville? We sure do here in IL--Walgreen's, Walmart, just about everywhere. But, it does cut down on stolen carts, which have to be expensive to replace.
