This is another wicked looking broadhead from Australia--I was VERY impressed. I also threw in a test of their economy model, the Old School broadhead.

Took an elk with the 175 with big bleeders. Total arrow weight was 602 grains with 23% FOC. The shot wasn’t perfect. I hit the scapula and punched through it and hit the spine and broke it. The head didn’t exit, but the elk was down where he stood. The entry hole was impressive. The elk fell on my arrow and broke the head off at the threads. The head was still shaving sharp when I get the head out of the spine with zero dings in the blade. They fly great for such a big head. 100% recommend this head, it’s bomb proof.

Lusk Archery Adventure, I know you say that if you want us to see you test a head to send a pack. However I’m a pretty broke college student working in a pizza shop for minimum wage lol. I genuinely appreciate your thoroughness and consistency that you incorporate into your broadhead tests and reviews. I’m a “new” bow hunter (I’ve been chasing them for three years with a bow and have had several opportunities that never panned out right) and have yet to down a deer with my bow. I have seen others success and helped recover deer shot with mechanicals and found repeated results of broken blades and bent ferrules, this has really pushed me to solid monolithic fixed blades. My uncle shoots the original Montec and has had great success with pass through shots on elk. This and the introduction of the new Montec M3 which is supposed to be even better and sharper has really made me think about picking up a pack. I would very much appreciate seeing you do an in-depth review of the M3 before I drop about 45$ on them, your content is a step above others and there’s almost no good reviews of it out there. Keep making the good videos and I wish you goodluck during the upcoming seasons

It's like they took alot of features from many heads over the last 30 years & improved upon it with structural integrity. Plus they did it with a single bevel. I like the back with the angle cut & how u can sharpen it. The shape of the design reminds me of the Valkyrie short Jag with both heads having effortless penetration. However I really am liking the whole Valkyrie insert/outsert system for getting the highest % of FOC w/o shooting an arrow setup that is ready for a rhino.

I haven’t been able to get these to fly with the other heads I have. About 5” lower and 2” to the right. I’m stumped!
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
If they're consistent in flight, then it's a tuning issue or a form issue...believe it or not. If your bow is bare shaft tuned so the arrows have the same point of impact as a vaned shaft and the same angle of entry at 20 yards, then pretty much any head will fly well. But if not, some heads will and some won't.
@benjyhowell12913 жыл бұрын
Man these heads seem super impressive...sure look alot like bishop dicing drills .... why didn't u try the cement block on these heads???a single bevel with those bleeders looks devastating for sure!!!!!! Awesome video as always
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Benjy. I should have shot them into the cinder block. I just didn't think of it at the time. They're high carbon steel, but not a true tool steel, so they wouldn't fare quite as well as the Bishop or Iron Will...but they're a lot less pricey too...and still really tough.
@hambone9503 жыл бұрын
@@LuskArcheryAdventures do you recommend these over iron will?
@RimFireCenterFire3 жыл бұрын
Always thought it was a little silly when he shoots the steel plate. I always thought it has no purpose. When I was out hunting this season believe it or not a buck walked out wearing a full suit of armor I couldn't believe my eyes. My broadhead failed needles to say it got away. Just having fun good videos man keep em up.
@LuskArcheryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Well, of course deer don't wear steel plate. But it's a good test of the heads structural integrity and blade strength. All these tests are simply designed to provide data points to help us all select the best heads for our hunting set up and purposes. I've seen top notch tool steel machined heads break or bend when hitting a joint or heavy bone at an angle. So if you have to choose between a broadhead that looks brand new after 5 shots thru the steel and one that breaks on the first shot--all other things equal--why would you not choose the one that can handle the steel? That's the purpose of the test.
@RimFireCenterFire3 жыл бұрын

I've been using the ole school double bevel 125 grn heads for some years and have been using the Magnus snuffer ss on red deer and fallow deer, when I run out of the snuffer ss I think I'll buy a dozen of the 125 grn ones with the bleeders for deer , the snuffer ss are so accurate and for a 3 blade they only take a minute on a good quality fine grit stone to get shaving sharp again, I've never shot single bevel broadheads

Its basically a Helix broadhead with bleeders, Look at what a great job it just did on your last deer. Great design. Yeah, but I prefer the single piece construction and thickness of the Kayugas.
@ashadow3155 ай бұрын
Better than the helix as they are a monolithic design, and the 175 is much thicker. The thickness of the blade with the large bevel area really make this head torque bone.

They're not too hard to sharpen with a thinner stone--all single bevel and really thick and straight blades, not curved--so no problem.
@ashadow3155 ай бұрын
I used the stay sharp system and the work sharp precision sharpener, and got them hair popping sharp, but it did take some time. I couldn’t quite get the work sharp system to lay on the bevel angle perfectly and ended up resetting the bevel by a fraction, which took some time. My heads were no where near hunting sharp out of the package and the edge was a little rough. They did get super sharp and both those sharpening systems made it not too bad of a task, there are hair a lot of edges to do with the angled and bleeders. They make a nice hole.

I just got a pack of the 100s and some of the wide bleeders. Do they rattle when you have them assembled on an arrow? I'm assuming the chamfered hole side of the washer goes toward the bleeder?
@LuskArcheryAdventures2 жыл бұрын
They should not rattle at all. They may take some fidgeting to get them correct...and maybe you'll have to mix & match the bleeders with the heads to make sure they fit snugly. If not, then something is wrong.
@setharter2 жыл бұрын
@@LuskArcheryAdventures OK, thank you. I will tinker around with them a bit.
@setharter2 жыл бұрын
@@LuskArcheryAdventures After playing around with them more with both the standard and wide bleeders i still don't get it. I'm guessing the chamfered hole side of the washer is intended to face away from your arrow to capture the 2 tiny wings on the back of the bleeder. And the stem of the broadhead appears to sit inside the chamfer as well. Doing so with the standard bleeder works fine, no rattles at all with any of the heads or any combination of the standard bleeders. Installing the wide bleeders in the same manner every one of them rattles on every head. The only way to cure it is to flip the washer so the non chamfered hole side is towards the bleeder. But then they do no sit correctly on the stem of the broadhead, because it needs that chamfer.
