I'd think an off road stroller with a rifle rack would work nicely. Poncho, blanket, water filter, canteen. I think it's a very intelligent question you asked

Foldable bike and carrier trailer or foldable bikes. Standard 72 hr bag of supplies. Make a practice run or two from town to home. Substitute weighted packs and practice without the kids until comfortable with the distance. An emp attack would most likely be followed up by a full scale strike if done by a nation state or may be capitalized upon by nation states for further attacks. Location is key to time of travel and you should do an assessment of at least a 300 mile radius of your location to determine targets and security risks that exist in your location . Consider placing supplies along a pre determined direction of travel to aid in moving as fast as possible and stopping at supply points to get items along the way. Or have a safe town location you can stay at until your family can help with secure travel. The important thing is to have a plan and several options inside of that plan that you practice. To include communication (simple visual cues that will tell those in your group what option of the plan you chose) an example is when I come home if the kitchen blind is closed there are hostile invaders in the house. Plan and practice those plans.

Shop in a community that has folks you are friendly with. Community is the best prep nobody talks about. Keep a Kickstart motorbike that has points at a friend's house in the community you regularly shop at. Just fill it with stable gas (no ethanol). Just ride it around now and then to keep it in good shape and dump the gas or burn it up yearly or so. Keep backpacks in your car along with a 72-hour kit. If your kids are too little to ride, make provisions for that.

I work 38 miles 1 way it’s also that far to get to the grocery store, always carry a case of water, buy the fold up large wagon so you can put water, backpack and kids in wagon and pull them behind you. I am handicapped so walking that far will take me at least 5 days, that case of water and a backpack with dehydrated veggies and ramin will get me through, plus a can of mosquito spray and a tarp and blow up matress stuffed into back pack, the craziness will take at least a few days to start up so the soonest you get out of town the better .

Drive a “pure” diesel truck that does not require any electrical componenents, (i.e. Cummins 12V 5.9L with manual fuel shut off and manual transmission for push starting)

It was so strange. The number one answers before it got pulled were “first thing, ditch the kids” and “you need an off road vehicle” which isn’t helpful because literally all our vehicles are off roaders, and that doesn’t help if an EMP kills your cars lol

Hopefully before all this and SHTF,, you could get together w others within say 50 mile range and have a promise to always back each other up. Not everyones autos are dead, hopefully or in your dead truck Always carry a four wheeler with a cart for groceries/kids etc if in emergency. It is a tough question but not enough to toss someone with especially the experience you and your family have in offgridding. It's their loss by tossing you out. Idiots, they could have gained much experience from you. Lol. Your gain their loss. God Bless you and Woody and the beautiful family. Peace 🙏 from Big Jim New Hampshire USA aka Boston Strong

Seeing how most cars even modern non all electric cars dont have enough cabling to act as an antenna, your car will most likely be fine during an emp... it really isnt an issue

first i would have a back up vehicle that has no electronics that would be susceptible to an E.M.P. something that is all motor and 4wd or a bike for alternative transport that can haul all that you need to safely escape as well as for future transport of supplies

While no wher near to your situation but …i used to travel for work and as a woman alone I took care of.. I would have to cross the Pennines that could be quite nasty in winter and the often would get closed . I grew up in Africa where we used to travel great distances accross desert again little traffic so if we broke down ,, wasn’t good . So I was used to travel with emergency packs. I used to keep glucose tablets in it , water , sleeping bag basic first aid pack plastic bottle .. you never know .. some rope … warm and cool clothing and assortment of vitamin supliments so just in case and don’t forget salt… small tarp and torch .. emergency blanket, lighter/ matches so my water was in plastic bucket with the rope wrapped round it and a clean stocking around it I used to keep all of it in my sleeping bag .. none ideal but hopefully would keep me alive and of course basic car stuff .. but heat / water / salts and glucose should get you a couple of days I don’t know .. I’m sure the professionals will take me down lol but this is all before mobile phones etc ,, so break down was a horrid experience in thise day s ., now I’m just broken and just use a mobility scooter so don’t go to far lol good luck enjoy the vids

If you are in a town someone will have a tractor. That uses a magnet to run spark plug, they are not affected by emp or a old carb vehicle’s. You can use tractor parts to run a car engine.

@@woodysbarndominium a large amount of “possible events like emp” wouldn’t affect us as much as they like to portray. If tv goes down we have news paper. Computers go down we have small hard drives that can be plugged in to affected computers and run off its chip . Cars that are affected can be fixed in a couple days. The only reason they act like it’s a possible threat is bc it will shut down the link with the gov to the ppl…. no propaganda for a while doesn’t seem that bad.
@woodysbarndominium

@@vincentvillanueva3234 I have to disagree with that, people are not in any way prepared for this kind of change.
@vincentvillanueva3234
@vincentvillanueva3234 Ай бұрын
@@woodysbarndominium change is the only thing we can count on. Only vehicles 2005 and up will be affected. All older ones can swap out one part and run. That will reduce amount of available cars by 25% bc most ppl don’t own new ones. We still would have hard wired internet and landline. Only WiFi and cellphone would be affected. Ya paying for stuff will be affected but that can be figured out in a couple of days. Even the power grid wouldn’t be that affected bc it’s designed to overload and is powered by coal or steam . In Michigan we still have villages that operate like it’s the 1800s “little holland “ ect. Only new equipment Wi-Fi operated will be affected.

Makes no sense. Carry water for sure, blankets, a small first aide kit - to start. I live in Rogers and public transportation is almost non-existent. Could you call for a tow ? That’s all I got.

A lot of prepping communities don’t like noob preppers the main theory is that 1 noob preppers are a hindrance to the survival of the community 2 a woman with 2 small children are again a strain on the survival of the community 3. If you’re asking a community for help chances are that you haven’t researched the scenario and available preps needed. “ The strong will survive,the weak will fall to the wayside “ sad but true…. What do you have to bring to the table in a SHTF situation? Sounds to me like a lot of baggage. Sorry if being truthful sounds rude but their is nothing polite about survival

Most of those groups have certain words you aren't allowed to use. The admins claim it triggers the algorithm to shut them down. For example, in a canning group I am in you can't use the word fat (as in meat fat) or prepper or many other words. Is it possible you used a word against the rules? -Cheri'
