It’s too long you lose interest and that’s what happen when I watched. I thought it was just me but when the movie finished people just seem disappointed and annoyed that they wasted 3.5hours on a movie they didn’t know how to end. Just ends with Martin telling the audience what happened after which seem off and felt more like an apology for wasting our time. Good story and but terrible way to tell it. Should’ve been a mini series.

Why are most KZfaq critics gushing over this film? I left the theater with no emotion or care at all for what I just saw. 3.5 hours of a story that can be written in one paragraph. And for what was a tragic story, it was done in the most boring manner to make you feel indifferent. No tension at all. I appreciated the cinematography, but that’s secondary to actually enjoying a film.

We all have different opinions. I loved this movie and couldn’t think of a single scene to be cut. I felt the tension in almost every scene! Sorry you didn’t like this one.

Couldn't disagree more. I was thoroughly engaged the entire time. Felt the same way about the Irishman and I've watched it over 5 times. Casino is three hours and it's incredible as well. You have to go in accepting the length rather than dreading it. Become immersed in the story, characters, and setting rather than itching for it to be over.

Fair enough, I’ve loved Scorsese’s 3hr+ films in the past but his last two just haven’t hit the mark for me, I never felt like they justified the runtime. Glad you liked it.

@@thecozykinoshow I'm on the same boat as FeebleBird. I've watched Irishman a dozen times at this point, and I never got tired of it during the movie. I can say the same thing about KOTFM, and I know for a fact I am rewatching it again. It's tough to pace or direct a movie like this to everyone's standards. Especially a story as a tragic as this one.

couldn't even finish this comment because there was no subway surfers below it lmao (in all seriousness, I've never downloaded tiktok in my life, routinely watch 3hr+ films and spent the first 10 days of September meditating with Buddhist monks in Thailand. I just didn't think the film was paced particularly well)

The Irishman was so boring. Most history is like much of life, a bit plodding and boring at times. As Kubrick said, "Real is good, interesting is better." The fight scenes in Raging Bull don't play out as real, with the quick cut, bulb snap, animal sound effects, but that's what made it so great. They made it more interesting, which elevated them beyond a real depiction. Haven't seen Flower Moon yet and am not bothered by a long run time. Heat and JFK are two favorites, both of which are about three hours and needed that length to be what they are. Hoping Flower Moon is what it needs to be.

Yes, for me it was less a problem with the time and more with the pacing/editing. There are films of a similar length which I love but I never felt like KOTFM earned the 210 mins.

I pay a lot of money to watch a movie on the big screen, so no, can't be long enough! At least I got something for my money this time. Many movies are too short !
