I'd say leave the fender long, once you build the rest up around it you might decide it works. You can always take some off, adding it back it just gunna be a pain the nutz.

You could file the base to fit the fender curve, and put a rubber inner tube reminant as a gasket under.

Look into the little bullet lights that big rigs have on there trailers, they come in red, yellow and clear led… and can be made to strobe..

I like the fender longer with the light forward. Like others have said, you can always remove some length later, hard to put it back after.

The back version with short fender

Ahh, very exiting...just mock it up for now and make a decision later...how about to raise the light of the fender a bit..like one 1/2" spacer in the back and a 3/4" or so in the front, just to make it more level...then you can put it almost on the tip of the fender...I'm just brainstorming 😁. I will leave the front fender long and hold the light out. When it's underneath the headlights it gets kind of lost in there. I always thought those lights look cool and wanted one on my bike

Leave the fender longer and the light forward. Looks retro futuristic. Also if you don't want to let that industrial adhesive cure, then use a 2-part epoxy. That shit is good for everything.

long fender with no lights on

Hear me out… I would like to see the light facing backwards and mounted on the backside of the fender, behind the forks. At night you throw the switch and maybe it gives a weird spooky illumination on the radiator and exhaust manifold. Maybe?

Take a nail and trace the bottom of the fork brackets. Then cut off the excess metal and file the edges.

Move light to end and cut front to point.

Light all the way out up front

I love the light but I think I would forgo the light and give the fender a really good chop both the front and rear of the fork and then think about how and where to use the light.

No light chop the fender. Use light as tail light

Will there be only the switch or also a relay, activated by charging current? Easy to drain the battery, without.
