Kinder Scout Wild Camp & a Lamb Curry on the Trangia

In this video I was joined by my brother, who I’d arranged to meet in Edale with a fairly fluid plan of hiking on to Kinder Scout plateau for a wild camp.
We were blessed with a dry and bright day, but with a biting cold northerly wind. Once we’d reached the plateau via Golden Clough we hiked around the plateau edge in an anti-clockwise direction. After covering around 13 miles we decided to pitch at Pym Chair, I was in my MLD Trailstar and my brother was in my MLD Duomid.
We then set up a kitchen sheltered from the wind amongst the rocks, and used the Trangia 25 to cook a lamb keema curry.
A cold but fantastic camp in a stunning location.

A nice spot and Gateshead college has made you a king at wild camping cooking. Your brother looked liked he enjoyed it a lot and can see him on more camps with you. So does this mean your dad’s going to turkey now to get a new set of teeth so he can get some more of your top food in him haha. Cracking footage and look forward to the next one. Atb mark

I never have my BeFree clog. I give it a swish in clean water before every trip. I also give it a soak to hydrate the filament. Anyhow that’ll be karma for dissin’ yer father🤣🤣🤣 Other than that nice one lads👍🏻💪

I soaked the filter in a very diluted bleach solution. Then rinsed it through loads of times. Working great now. I think storing it dry doesn’t do it any favours . Thanks for watching Pete. All the best 🙏

Hi great vid & cook again - opinions (pro/con) between the Tarpstar and the DuoMid?? If you could only have one….?

Hi Sean, good question. If I could only have one it would be the Duomid. Reason being is that I find the Trailstar inner too restricted for space inside whereas the Duomid inner is much more spacious. An inner in the insect season is a must and so my choice would have to be the Duomid. Great question mate. 🙏

@@belowaveragewildcamper Many thanks … yes that makes total sense to me too… pesky midges are not an issue here in Southern Europe but the insects are… nice to feel secure 👍🏻
