@@vvs3796 hi, yeah the Duomid is a great winter tent. It’s surprisingly good in wind but I wouldn’t go out if strong winds were forecast. I’d be happy to use it in winds up to 30mph. To be honest I don’t enjoy camping in strong winds so I just wouldn’t go out in a bad forecast.

I’m a big fat bloke at the start of a big weight loss journey so for now I need a real thick mat and the Trekology UL140 at 12.5cm thick worked great to keep my hip from bottoming out on the ground. Loving being back in the outdoors hiking and camping after nearly 20 years, my mind still thinks I’m 15 though.

Thought you’d been abducted by aliens Steve. Hopefully not too long before your next adventure. I hardly get condensation it any of my shelters. I’m a cold sleeper though. Do you think a gap of a few centimetres under the windward side of the shelter would avoid a back eddy of dead air which can occur on the leeward side of the shelter? It can act as a sort of tumble drier effect which circulates the moisture you breath out. Did you remember your en-suite toilet this time?

@@unclepeteswildadventures hi Pete. Hope you’re well mate. pleased to Report that I remembered the en-suite this time. To be honest I think it was just the conditions that created the condensation. My mate tent was dripping as well. Andy Beavers tents had lots of condensation as well. I think a bigger gap would perhaps have helped but don’t think condensation on that night could have been avoided. All the best mate 👍

Intersting, in all the years I have been hiking in the Lake District and camping at that site I have never thought to explore that side of the stream, but instead favoured the other side and the vallley beyond towards Scarfell.

Cheers mate. Really pleased you enjoyed it. I got the inner from Mountain Laurel Designs. I find the inner in the trailstar a bit restrictive with regards space. I much prefer the Duomid when it has the inner inside. The Trailstar is a much better shelter without an inner. All the best mate 🙏

It’s a cracking spot with good views Steve, camped up there in January, not a load of flat spots like, your set up looks 👌, super light, I agree with you about the trailstar, definitely makes a better winter shelter, like you said it’s the sleep system that keeps you warm, the shelter only stops the wind, atb Mick 👍

A great camp. Lovely spot up there and not a bad view either is it. Sometimes it’s nice and especially for you to just take what’s needed and it’s easier and it gives you more time to chat with the lads etc. great footage and 3 cracking summer light weight set ups. I couldn’t pick one but I would use them all as they are all equally great. Atb Mark.

I would feel lost without my trangia... I only cook real food too... Though iam considering getting some army ration pack meals for emergency.. at least they're not posh pot noodles , that cost the price of a night out.... Take care out there.

Nice vid as always BAWC , glad you said that about the Trail Star because its one i have considered for a few years now but a month ago i ended up settling for the Six Moons Design Luna Solo because even though like you i love the Xmid i am forever trying to lighten my pack weight without compromising comfort and although i have only used the SMLS twice and its rained quite heavily and been fairly strong winds, so far i am a big fan of it and i can see myself using this right up to the winter months. Its very spacious and provides that all important midge protection and stands up very well to the wind and when its wet it sheds a surprising amount of water unlike a lot of Sil Nylon tents due to the fabric treatments ATB

Hi Nicky. Did you get your Trangia? I used lambs liver which Is always found In any supermarket. My favourite is calves liver but that’s insanely expensive and you don’t often see it sold in the supermarket. Thanks for leaving a comment. All the best 🙏

🤣 Howay Barry, Pigs cheeks!!!! They need at least 2 hours of braising to make them edible. I’ve cooked them before at home.l and they’re lovely but definitely don’t lend themselves to the Trangia. Asparagus, now that’s easy. I really enjoyed that liver. Forgot how much I love it. Liver is going out of fashion isn’t it. The youth Of today just don’t seem interested in eating other animals organs anymore 🤔 All the best mate 🙏
