Kinpira gobo or sauteed Burdock root is a favorite side dish in Japan-
For this dish you need;
2 stick of burdock root- cut into stripes
1/2 carrot- cut into stripes,too
2-3 tablespoons of sesame oil
3 tablespoons of brown sugar (or you can alternate this with honey)
2 tablespoons of sake 50 ml of Japanese soy sauce ( or you can lessen it if you wish)
* Optional- sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

*Disclaimer- the Tamagoyaki I used in this photo is NOT my tamagoyaki, we bought this, it is a very famous Tamago yaki in Odawara, but I will link my eggroll recipe in the video.
