Perfect I use a lot of jigs to help accuracy.That track saw is a life saver I recently fitted a lot of fire doors had to trim them at the bottom for carpets.I did them clamping at the bottom and trimmed them without removing the doors saved me a lot of time

@@thetallcarpenter I really want one. But I rarely get kitchens or finer 2nd fix work. Im not sure its worth it to buy one to rip down sheets of osb/ply for shuttering. Cutting the tops and bottoms of those bloody oak veneered doors everyone wants now would be the main reason I want one. I've had to replace two of them before when my ripsaw, masking tape and clamped level set up blew an ugly chip out the veneer. I'd even scored the line as deep as I could with a Stanley. But I still really want one. Having to set up and clamp a straight edge at about 28 and a half mil away from the cut gets tedious and easily goes wrong when you're trying to get things done quickly. (Why don't they make the foot/plate on ripsaws an easy 30mm from the blade?)

Hi Gary. These are a kind of hybrid kitchen. The units are made in a small factory in the midlands, and the doors and panels come from a separate, small factory, also in the UK. Friction strips on the underside of the track.

@@thetallcarpenter hi del. Do you find with the track saw you can cut the panel either way for a clean cut. Can find it splinters at the other end sometimes like a little blowout if you were planing end grain the wrong way at ends of doors. Any tips on how to stop that?

@@jaser461986 Hi Jase🖐 The underside of the cut should be perfect as only the front of the blade should be cutting the material, basically doing an upwards cut. Tear out on the underside is because the blade is not toeing in at the front, meaning the back of the blade is slightly catching the material on its upward path👍I have done a video on it which I'll try and put a link to👊Cheers Del

@@nigeltaylor5195 Great question Nigel, and I have a very specific answer👍After years of trying, super duper expensive PZ2 bits, I now just by a pack of 25 DeWALT bits from Toolstation for £5.99. They are great for the general works I do, and usually break before the go blunt. A pack of 25 will last me all year. If I was driving high quality screws into hard woods then they will break really easily, but a lot of that is because of poor driver control. Cheers Del

@@thetallcarpenter So what happens if laminate flooring needs to be fitted and you need to leave a gap for expansion? The end panels would need to be removed and cut again shorter as would need to sits on top of the floating floor though. The floor guys would not be happy with this.

@alnero80 I know exactly what you mean Alan👍and it's usually down to what the customers asks me to do. I this instance the builder didn't know what the floor covering was going to be as the customer hadn't chosen it, and the kitchen company I was fitting for wanted the kitchen completely finished while I was there and not have to go back to fit end panels after the floor and tops were fitted. I was told that it had 18mm hardwood flooring and was cut round the end panel and the had a scotia bead fitted😬 The builder on this job was so chaotic😵‍💫
