Even after being historically bad to start the season, he played so damn well after the first month that he still became an all-star. Keep Randle and run it back next year.

Look at how much better Randle was with Elfrid Peyton. Elfrid wasn't very good but what he did do well was bring the ball up and get Randle into his spots on the floor. When we lost Peyton and he was bringing the ball up the floor a lot this was tragic. Randle is a big that wants to play like a big. Bigs need PGs. It's not surprising seeing Randle play good ball with an all world PG like Brunson.

Julius Randle was playing the best basketball of his career in January before he got hurt and the Knicks were easily looking like the best team in the league. Julius gave the Knicks a bully ball inside presence that added an inside power game that we simply didn’t have after he got injured.

Getting a STAR? Julius IS a STAR. Top 3 Power Forward in the league. And best Bully Baller. NOT SOFT like those other so called PFs. Julius can only improve in his mental game, which he was mastering last season. We winning EVERY game we won the REBOUND battle. Imagine Julius Rebounding in this past playoffs run. And 5 Assists...thats better than most PG in the league.

But if this reports are correct, the KNICKS are saying he's not a star? Why would a team even talk about possibly trading their 29 year old 2 time All NBA player for a better player? Why not say "we love Julius" and keep it moving? We already know every team in the league is going to answer the phone if the Bucks are shopping Giannis or the Suns are shopping KD. Why specifically mention being open to the possibility of having to include Randle in a deal?

Julius is a 25-8-6 type player. Never hard to replace and with OG on the wing on defense. Randle probably felt more freedom. I'd like to see them all get a full off-season together and run it back. My only concern is starting SG

This is my problem with my fellow Knick fans. You glaze Julius all day every day, which is cool...it shows loyalty. HOWEVER you just crap on the rest of our guys. How tf you gonna say "My only concern is starting SG" when Donte averaged 20 ppg on great efficiency, low turnovers, and good defense after Randle went down...and is locked up for the next 3-4 years at mid level exception salary? You didn't see him out there playing his heart out in the playoffs??? He has a higher scoring average for the Knicks in the playoffs than Randle does.

@Michael_Page I'm not a Randle fan honestly. More often than not he's getting crapped on in all fairness but like Katz said, where are we gonna find someone of equal or greater value right now? Also. Donte is a career jounryman, he's been on 3 or 4 different teams, and he's come off the bench for his career. Donte is a good player and I don't know how I or anyone else "shitted" on him.. I'm not sure the SG position is a lock is all I'm saying.

Thanks @FredKatz for bringing sanity to the ‘Trade Randle’ debate. The front office clearly had a plan to reboot the Knicks franchise when they signed Randle. The post Randle injury style of play the Knicks had to adopt was revealing. Sadly, it is not winning ball. The injury management by Thibs should win him coach of the year. The offense flowing through mostly Brunson is not balanced. I suspect a high IQ player like him probably didn’t like it neither. The last post season showed us what the team really is: talent level, quality of the bench, chemistry, heart, adoption of Thibs style of play, quality of the front office moves. Pls allow the team to resign their free agents, and possibly upgrade the 2 spot without distractions. Enough of this Trade Randle nonsense. He is going nowhere.

Look at Julius in January when OG got there. He adapted quickly and the ball was moving, moving RJ out the starting line up changed everything. Using stats before that to me isn't fair. Those 11 games in January was a good sample size, they demolished some quality teams. Hart can go back to the bench and spark that area of the game we missed. It all ran much more smoothly before he went down

Knicks blew out great teams during that. stretch. Casuals bring up his turn overs, but its avg with the leauge considering his production and touches.

@@brightestfuture Randle's turnovers are wild. Stop it. 7th in the league in turnovers per game. 3.8 turnovers per game in January...which would have been 3rd in the league. Brunson plays on the same team. More points. More assists. Similar free throws. However, Randle averaged about 50% more turnovers than Brunson. "Casual" to you is anybody who disagrees with you. If Randle is what you say he is, anything less than multiple championships is a failure.

@@Kingofdaslumzxps Individual stats don't win games. Players performing well in their roles wins games. Those numbers don't mean much without context. Julius Randle plays a SUPERSTAR role. His usage rate is the same as Jokic's. Higher than KD, AD, or LeBron. He scores a lot because he shoots a lot. Randle is a very talented player, but in the role he's asked to play for the Knicks, he may not be so great. But again. I'll concede. You are correct. Randle is great. Sure. But if he is...this is a team that should win multiple championships. They should not be contenders, or one of the favorites...Tthey should be THE favorite. Swap out Randle for KD and the Knicks are title favorites by a mile. Randle is supposedly the same level of player according to simpleton stats.

Knicks fans need to make up thier minds. If Randle is what you say he is, the team doesn't need ANYTHING. I keep seeing they need a couple more players for depth. There is no room for anybody else. If the Knicks bring everybody back except Alec, they still have AT LEAST 11 playable guys. If Randle is actually a star, he has by far the best supporting cast in the NBA. The Knicks should be favorites to win the next 3-4 championships if Randle is what you think he is. JB, Donte, Hart, OG, Hartenstein, Deuce, Bojan, Randle, Precious, Mitch, and Sims. Can't even add a quality player via the MLE because there are no minutes for him. Adding a Dejounte Murray or Mikal Bridges (if that's even possible) just means less minutes for Deuce, Donte, and Josh Hart, who are all ELITE role players. Mikal doesn't guard smalls like Deuce or knock down open threes like Deuce. Plus, Deuce is playing for almost free. Mikal doesn't space the floor like Donte. Mikal doesn't rebound like Josh. DeJounte would be a downgrade from Donte as the starting 2.

Trading Julus is idiodic. Talking about is pretty much a waste. What does have to happen is balancing Brunson with Randle. Past players have problem with Randle. Once Randle went down it was over for the Knicks in my mind. Too many were giving too much credit to Brunson and OG. As if Randle had nothing to do with the dynamics of the winning Knicks! All the credit for Knicks winning given to Brunson and OG I believe negativily impacted Randle's emotionsl psychological head. Which may be related to him playing in a game Knicks had in the bag and he was out there injuring himself for rest of the season/ MY OPINION! What I saw!

Why not keep Bojan and the picks? Bojan is a good player who is comfortable being the 9th man. Bridges just takes minutes away from Donte, Hart, and Deuce...and costs at least 4 picks. The Knicks picks are not particularly good. Why not just bring the whole team back except Alec? Isn't this a championship team?

@@gardenstateknicks "Bully ball" January Randle actually took more threes, shot worse from the field, got to the line less, and had more turnovers than in the previous month. Shot a better percentage from the field in December too. The Knicks played 6 good teams in January. They were 4-2 in those games. 11 of the 16 games were home games. Randle is Randle and the team had a good month. Randle is going to get his numbers however they come. Regardless of his shooting percentage, defense, or turnovers, Randle is going to get those shots up one way or another.

How we star chasing when we got two official stars in Julius Randle and Jalen Brunson? We have great role players and tough youngsters.. add in a crap load of picks and a knowledgeable coach. Sounds like a wonderful problem for us. We just have to figure out how to utilize what we have already have.
