Rouge not liking shadow isn't true. She does actually have feeling for Shadow and Knuckles (we all know Knuckles and Rouge should be together). In one description for Rouge, it tells you she has a crush on Shadow and Knuckles. Just wanted to clarify 😊

I can tell you how Shadouge started. If Shadow saving Rouge's life back on Prison Island wasn't the takeoff point, Rouge befriending and showing concern for amnesiac Shadow in his quest to find out who he really is in _Sonic Heroes_ definitely was. (Not to mention, when Omega woke up and started blasting, Shadow's first instinct was to get someone who was effectively a complete stranger to him to safety.) And if we're going off the teasing bit, then she must have at least a little bit of feelings for Sonic, too. Rouge is just a generally flirty person, and she very obviously likes teasing and flirting with Knuckles to get a rise out of him, which is kinda the opposite of "cooling him down;" if anything, it disrupts his focus, something he needs to keep honed for his job. In my personal opinion, Knuckles doesn't _"need"_ to be with anyone. The tension he has with Rouge in _Sonic Adventure 2_ honestly seems incredibly contrived if you ask me. Like plenty of other people have pointed out, Rouge can _fly;_ by all logic she shouldn't have actually needed saving. If anything, it just seems like it was thrown in to give Rouge a reason to give her Emerald shards back to Knuckles. Rouge definitely showed more actual concern for Shadow in that game; she is the first one to ask what happened to him when Sonic comes back alone, and when she tells Knuckles she's got something better than jewels on her mind, it's very much implied she's thinking about Shadow - I mean, she _was_ holding onto that ring Sonic gave her when she asked about him. And it's not like we can _really_ say for certain that Shadow doesn't have feelings for Rouge. He's not exactly all that great at expressing emotion, after all. And honestly, it seems to me like SEGA and Sonic Team are pushing Knuxouge less and less as time goes on. I'm not saying they're pushing Shadouge more; more like they don't really focus on romantic relationships much at all anymore. If there's any ship that would ever become canon, it would probably be Sonamy and that's it. But that's really what shipping is for, isn't it? To explore alternate dynamics with these characters. I'm more of a Sonaze fan myself. Also, excuse me, *_what??_*_ "If Maria was alive, we all know Shadow would be with Maria"?_ Shadow and Maria 100% had a sibling dynamic going on. Sure, there's no denying Shadow absolutely loved Maria more than anything - but in a *platonic* way. Look, I'm really sorry if all this sounds like I'm attacking your ship. I very much try not to do that. I just... I dunno. **annoyed grunt directed at self** One more thing: Another reason to ship Shadouge? Aesthetic. They are the best goth pairing.

I understand why there is a Shadouge pairing. I agree with you though. I think that they are best friends. There have been some Knuxouge moments. That Sonic Generations moment was so cute. 😃 There is an animation for Team Sonic Racing that has a scene where Rouge attempts to beat Knuckles by ruining his car. It doesn't work out though. Tails helps Knuckles out and Knuckles teases her. Lol 😂 I saw the ending scene for the Team Sonic Racing game. There is a group moment and everyone is about to go race. Rouge is standing next to Knuckles. At the end of Sonic Forces there is a scene where Rouge pushed Knuckles to the side so that she could talk to the avatar character. It looked like she did it just to mess with him. Afterwards, they are standing next to each other while Tails does his closing speech. It was nice to see that in some of the most recent games.

Rouge said it herself in Sonic Chronicles that she thinks Knuckles is cute but he isn't her type and in a Sonic Character info book she was stated to like the "Bad Boy Type". Like it or not Rouge's purpose was confirmed by her creator Yuji to be the anti version of Amy, Rival of Knuckles and love interest for Shadow ( The second main protagonist of the franchise ). The only reason why They said Rouge have a crush on both Shadow and Knuckles was to give a bit of hope shipping fandom who ships Knuckles and Rouge. Even though Shadouge is a bigger ship than Knuxouge in all Sonic fandom platforms like DeviantART Instagram Twitter pinterest and more SEGA still cared for the smaller portion that still believed they'd be a couple. I highly despise of the Knuckles and Rouge ship they are treasure rivals and are no way into romance with each other. Shadouge is meant to be :P

Rouge definitely caught a first flutter of a crush then, but I feel she really knew at 4:02, after considering and harbouring the feeling for a while. The moment she has there talking to Knuckles alone on the spaceship bridge while she gazes out at the stars is really poignant, vulnerable and romantic, unusual for a brash tough flirtatious character like hers. And Rouge's dialogue in this scene is so well-written, too, rarely for female characters--she sounds like a realistic woman who's falling in love unexpectedly and doesn't know what to do about it or whether she's even capable of a loving caring reciprocal relationship, but has hope for her heart's desire to make it nonetheless.
