In this episode, Hari M. R. introduces Mr Jose Abraham Kuncharakattil, a Physics teacher-turned-farmer and entrepreneur. The pure, unadulterated jaggery he makes and sells from his sugarcane farm is a value-added product that helped him overcome the losses of three consecutive floods and also remain afloat. This, in Hari’s view, is a model for value-added agri products. If we follow this example, it will help us gain more from our Miyawaki forests as well.

മായമില്ലാത്തത് എന്ന് ഉറപ്പുള്ള ഒരു സാധനത്തിനു കൂടുതൽ വില കൊടുക്കേണ്ടി വന്നാലും അത് താങ്ങാൻ സാമ്പത്തിക സ്ഥിതി ഉള്ള ആളുകൾ നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ ഉണ്ട്. അപ്പോ ഈ കുത്തക കമ്പനികളുടെ മായം ചേർത്ത മിശ്രിതം ഇല്ലാതാക്കാൻ ഇങ്ങനെ ഉള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളെ അനുകൂലിക്കണം. പക്ഷെ എനിക്ക് ഒരു സംശയം ഉള്ളത് നമ്മൾ കുരുമുളക് ഇത് പോലെ value added ആയി ഉപയോഗിച്ചാൽ അതിൻ്റെ അടിസ്ഥാന വില കുതിച്ചുയരാൻ കാരണമാകില്ലെ സർ. പിന്നെ ഇത്തരത്തിൽ തേങ്ങാ വെള്ളം process ചെയ്ത് മാർക്കറ്റിൽ ഇറങ്ങിയ പാനീയം അധികം വിജയിച്ചില്ല വില കൂടുതൽ മൂലം.

ശർക്കര പോലേയല്ലല്ലോ. തേങ്ങ വെള്ളം ഒരു പുതിയ product അല്ലേ. Marketing വേണ്ടി വരും. പിന്നെ അടിസ്ഥാന വില കൂടുന്ന കാര്യം. ഇപ്പൊൾ കുരുമുളക് kettikkidakkukuka അല്ലല്ലോ. വിദേശികൾക്ക് പകരം സ്വദേശി വാങ്ങുന്നു എന്നല്ലേ ഉള്ളൂ.
