A video about the Southern White Rhinoceros, a heavily guarded animal that was saved from the brink of extinction in South Africa. (You might notice that some of the animals in this video are missing their horns, sadly this is a case of desperate times calling for desperate measures. The South African National Park has sawed the horns off live animals to protect them from poaching.) Narration and film by Tanja Nayak. Photos by Tanja Nayak and photos of black rhinoceros from Shutterstock. Illustrations by Nate Myers.
