KynSHOT hydraulic short stroke AR9 buffer set up SOLVED.

In this video i swap out a heavy buffer from HeavyBuffers.com to try out a hydraulic short stroke buffer from Kyhshot in my AR9 pistol. I quickly run into issues with stove pipe brass and failure to eject. I try this buffer with a standard spring and a firm AR10 spring with the same results. I swap back to the original heavy buffer and AR10 spring with no issues to rule out the ammunition. Anyone have any thoughts? With this short stroke buffer i can cycle the action by hand and the hammer does cock. Both set ups are very close in weight witht the KynShot unit being .5 ounce lighter than the Heavybuffer.com set up. I do feel a reduced harshness to the recoil with the kynshot and would like to uses the unit in this unit and AR9 carbine i am building.
Update: Had a quick contact with Kynshot and got to the root of the cycling issue. Buffer is working as intended. My buffer tube however is not as it is too short for the short stroker. Need a longer A5 with this unit to get things humming along...follow along for follow up content real soon.

I want to say the short stroke buffer is meant to be used in A5 buffer tubes which are longer than carbine but shorter than rifle length. Kynshot has a carbine length buffer to be used in carbine buffer tubes

I have a question...that the right model for a PCC?? Mines is nowhere near as long as what I'm seeing in yours! I have model RB5007 and that's the model that "supposed" to be for PCC.

This is the short stroker buffer. 5007 is standard. I will be doing content on 5007 and the HD too.

@@RugerGundog i want to say you'll have better luck with the 5007 in a carbine length buffer tube but if you still have the short stroke, give it a go in an A5 length buffer tube setup

Deff need to use A5 (longer) buffer tube with that hydro buffer. No need for ar10 spring.

I do have a5 in the set up now. Cycles better however no last round bolt catch function

@@RugerGundog almost seems like the bolt doesn’t have any room left to travel because of the added buffer length, it stops short of where it would with your standard buffer. A5 tube would solve that issue

I have that same problem on my AR9. I honestly don't feel that much of a difference from the Foxtrot Mike 8oz buffer. This damn thing cost me $170 and won't even cycle at a faster pace because of the length of the Kynshot hydraulic buffer. 😡@@UniversityRifleClub

Right at the 4:55 mark. That failure to eject was not from the buffer/recoil kit. It sounded like it was an undercharged round.. sounds like you almost had a squib load there buddy

I used the longer a5 tube as kynshot suggested.

You have the wrong buffer in your buffer tube. The short stroke buffer should NOT be used in a standard AR15 buffer tube, the buffers that will work are the 5007 and 5015 buffers. If you want to use the short stroke buffer it needs to be used with an A5 (which is now a standard AR10) carbine buffer tube assembly. Just remember that if you do install an A5 buffer tube you MUST use the short stroke buffer OR add a Blitzkrieg industries weight/spacer in front of a 5007 or 5015 hyd buffer or ANY AR9 buffer. I’ve dealt with a bunch of these systems and I’ve used both Wilson Combat flat wire and JP INDUSTRIES AR CARBINE springs with all three of these buffers with 100 % reliability shooting from powder puff steel challenge loads to personal defense loads. I’ve tried AR15 rifle springs and found them to be too powerful and AR10 springs are ridiculously overpowering. Every person who’s tried one of my 9’s has ended up purchasing a 5015 buffer and a Wilson flatwire AR15 spring. I wish I recorded the responses as they were pretty funny.

I have swapped over to A5 tube and spring combination per kynshot and issues persistent. With the short stroke kynshot removed and other kynshot it works fine

That spring is too heavy for that pistol

Also used the recommendations from kynshot. All works well now...however no last round hold open.
