I’m 44 . I still stand firm that 1989 was the crest of the genre . Motley had Feelgood , Aerosmith had Pump , Tesla Great Radio . Introduced us to Skid Row , Warrant , Dangerous Toys . Great White Twice , Cult Sonic , Faster Pussycat masterpiece Wake Me . And of course Cocked was great Rip Tear , Never Enough , Jayne , and I still dig Magdalene .

Times have changed! I remember when tattoos were really looked down on. I was definitely there as a fan! It was always about the music to me. Kelly was more then respectful when I met him. Took time to talk to me and take a pic. I think some bands could tell the true female fans apart from groupies. Some couldn’t. I was treated like crap many times from other bands just because I was female. I hated the groupie thing. I always had to explain I was into the music and it stopped there! I still had so many great times and have wonderful memories, including meeting Kelly. Thanks for sharing! Love your stories! It always takes me back. 💜🤘🏻🧙🏻‍♀️

Were you on the 1992 tour? I was 15 years old Was supposed to see la guns in cleveland but i had gotten sick, ended up being really sick had 8 surgeries Lost all of my colon It sucked I gave one of my nurses my tickets. I dunno who set it up but was lying in my hospital bed and i got a phone call It was PHIL LEWIS He was so awesome and talked to me for awhile Then he said We have a new drummer “ Bones” and he put him on the phone. At the time cuts was not out yet so i had no idea who he was. It didn’t matter i was still stoked i had just talked to Phil. Still one of the best days ever

Really curious on your opinion of the band(s) today LA Guns and Steve Riley's LA Guns? I recently saw a show on KZfaq of Steve's version and I could be wrong but it looked like someone other than Kelly was playing bass. Like I said I could be wrong. Also there was a show in Florida with Phil and Tracii where they just skipped out. For an outsider it seems these guys are very erratic when it comes to professionalism. I met the guys on many occasions in many different forms of the band. I have to say Phil was always hospitable. I can't say the same for Tracii but his talent is incredible. Steve always seemed intimidated by the fans.
@beforeiforget1985

Kelly did not play a few shows with Riley’s LAG due to Covid stuff at the time. The drama that has gone down with this band, or bands, is so crazy. It’s ridiculous. I have my own opinions on the guys but they are mine. That said, I think that the main players in the saga are all equally guilty in creating this mess. If they want to have two different versions, so be it, let it rock. Steve was not intimidated by the fans, he was older than the other guys and had been on tour for many more years than all of them. He was more seasoned and respectful of the fans but tended to be aloof. We were also stoned 24-7 so that might shed some light!

@@beforeiforget1985 Such a great response bro. Aloof was a perfect analogy. Always gracious but seemed in another place. Totally agree these guys created a mess. Even though Phil and Tracii have been successful and Steve is getting on. I just feel this band is alot like Zeppelin in that they are not the same without all five original members. I'll tell as much as I loved the first two records for me Man in the Moon was severely underrated. Musically it was a gem as was Vicious Circle.

Great story... & now we know why LA Guns didn't become as big as Guns & Roses (just kidding). You're doing a great job explaining life on the road because well... you were there. Not exactly sure the fascination with the girls. It's just like liquor. You've got your bottom shelf & your top shelf. For you fishing guys, carp & a trophy bass. But still, your carp is probably gonna look a lot better than what you might see today overall (average). Look at the photos. Also, women took good care of ourselves & it mattered we were beautiful & feminine (no tats). There were girls that would work there way up through roadies & some were asked/selected. Also, some were there because of "who" the guys were (groupies) & yes there were "band aids". They were fans that happened to be girls that loved the music. Question? If you were asked to go meet & party with the band would you go? Yes, there were women who liked drugs & rock-n-roll just as much as the guys. Why? Because it was a really good time. They can even talk the tech lingo with you. Also, don't think every back stage pass ended up in sex. Maybe, those asking wanna know crazy things girls would do or did?? Debauchery? I guessed correctly who the dirty dogs were (Phil & Tracii). You just know. Marriage happened but I'd like to see how many of those marriages lasted. Yes, some girls would travel for a while on the road. Saw a girl suitcase in hand get on the AC/DC bus. Hope this helps from a female perspective. It was a different time & it was the best time.

Yeah, I had a friend who was a writer and he got a book published about the Coen Brothers. I know it can be a challenge, especially without the right connections. I know books, or at least I think I do, lol, regarding what sells or what is interesting pop culture, and the 80s are pretty hot right now. Seems like the millennial generation is intrigued with the times with no cell phones.... and your book sounds like a great rock n roll story.

I agree. I am one of the only females I know who doesn't have any tattoos. My husband recently passed away after 41years, sadly. I was thinking about getting one- (in his memory ) I remember when he told me not to. He said that would be like putting a bumper sticker on a Mercedes...It made me re- think it... I won't be getting any.
