Great advise!!! I'm starting my band from square one. When I first started many years ago, it was all about hitting all the clubs, flyers, promoting face to face. I loved it, still do! Keep kickin ass!! 🤘🦇🕷♠️ -J.s.

Thanks for the video again, man. Im 23 now. Being from Dallas, Ga we don't have the biggest music scene, hell there's only a few bars in the county with live music. I dont even think an actual club, Gotta make the hour trip to Atlanta for the big clubs. Hopefully, here soon, you'll be hearing about my lil band. Some guys i went to high school with are already touring extensively on the local scene and they kick some ass. Very little stuff out by them right now because theyre all so young. 19-22. But give " The Harmony Grove Band" a check. They have one "studio" recorded song out. And don't worry about the few crappy live performance clips, they were well over a year ago. And those cats have come intooo themselves recently , sorry for the rants as always, man. Muchh love and glad to see your kicking as always.

I toiled in bands throughout the late-80s and 90s. Success didn’t come until the early 2000s. It was very easy. We were below-average musicians, but we had a fun live show and songs people enjoyed. The real key to the attention we gained was that we had a cute girl bass player. If it was just another lumpy dude playing bass, no one would have gave a shit. The labels came to us by word of mouth. Next thing we knew, we were touring with our international label mates. We had a great run and had a lot of fun. My advice: get a cute girl in the band and make sure no one from the band decides to have a relationship with her.

In our town the question to the band is how many can you pull? We're north of the city so, it's locals and during school the colleges help bit, your always asked what can you pull.

You have to have balls and lie if you have to! But then you have to produce. And if you do you should be rolling into the next one. And the next, but if you don’t you most like won’t get another gig at that room. Thanks for watching 🙏

Yes, get a loyal following. Yes, it's definitely a different world. You're right, there's always a place! Just watched a live stream. Oh, there's an idea. Start live streaming your events on KZfaq. Yes...... Just watched a live stream of bands in Nashville. No, not on Broadway but south of Nashville. It was Metal & it was awesome. The bands were actually good. They had 4-5 bands that played a 45 minute set. If you didn't like the first band, you knew another band would be up soon. Yes, I highly suggest live streaming. I've heard TikTok being used too. LIVE STREAM to help with your following. Years ago, there was a local band called "Free Beer". Can you imagine seeing that on the marquee & the draw that made? Everyone thought there was "free beer" available. They weren't a very good band but there were people there & it was fun. Yes, cheaper alcohol is a draw. Happy Hours - 2fer1 or even 3fer1. I'd heard that became illegal? Yes, always a happy hour. I never could understand why bars never offered a late happy hour. Right before the band hits the stage, do a quick happy hour to get the people in. Ladies night... not really. Cheap well shots & cheap draft beer. I remember .01 "penny" drafts. Yes, give away stuff especially CD's of the bands. I miss the multiple options of LIVE music. Years ago, there were many choices of LIVE music bars/clubs. Now, it's down to nearly nothing. When I was rockin the bars, we all had fake ID's. Gosh, can you imagine "gasp" ;). Laws were a lot less restrictive back then but I was getting into bars when I was 16. Was raised in Central Ohio. We had the iconic Agora but we also had the Alrosa Villa. Oh my, everyone played there. It's now gone like so many others. Didn't intend to comment so much. Just hope this helps an up & coming band that's trying to make it in a difficult LIVE music world. Oh one more thing, I had no idea how awful Broadway in Nashville has become. If I hear one more cover of "Don't Stop Believing", I'm gonna pull my long hair out. At the minimum do different covers! Heard an excellent cover of "War Pigs". Do different but good tunes.
