Hi Everyone! 🌹✨ Today I thought it would be fun to blow some soft glass forms for pendants! These abstract shapes are inspired by a photo that one of our Dungeon Friends sent to me. 😍✨ These are open, free-form hollows…and are easily made off of a mini blow pipe. I hope this demo helps those of you who are interested in learning more about hollow forming in soft glass!
I have made many tiny vessels this way but I have never opened them up to reveal the inside…So this should be exciting! 🤗
Thanks to all of you for joining me! I hope you are all safe and well! 🌹
✨Cheers- Robin 🌈💫

These are gorgeous! The freeform shape is very user friendly as it doesn't matter what it looks like in the end, it will always look intentional. The black and white centred one does look like a seashell. I especially love the orange centred one.

Hi Shelley! 😍🌈 Thanks so much!! I’m glad you enjoyed these! ✨ I also liked the orange one as well… It was the last one I made, but I think visually the black-and-white one looked better in the demo. Lots of fun to make freeform shapes with a bubble! I will have to make some more in different colors and patterns when I get the chance! Hope you’re doing well my friend! ✨🌹 Cheers- Robin 🌈✨

Wow. There were several places that you could have stopped and had a lovely piece. To be honest, as you got closer to the end, I really thought it was kind of a hot mess😂. But, it turned out totally awesome. The showcase at the end had me thinking of beautiful, alien shells. Congrats on another illuminating tutorial.

Hi Linda! 🤗🌹 Lol! When I started to open it up I felt like it was a hot mess!! 😂 But I know that sometimes things look terrible before they beautiful…I call it the Beauty and the Beast moment! 😂✨ They definitely look like alien shells though!!👽🛸 So glad you enjoyed!! Cheers- Robin 🌈🌹

Wowzer yes I was thinking sea shell. I have seen those. Not sure if this is how they do it- I so love how your example can be so many color combinations and organic form so really any look that we get is great. Thanks so much for this creation. Have a grand weekend 🎉💐🥰🤩

Excellent, stunning pieces and love your style too! Right up my ally - or dungeon I should say. 😅☺👍And even as a long time flame worker and glass blower myself I really learned something from your positive trial and error approach at times when others may give up you made something quite beautiful in the end. Very valuable lesson for newbies and experienced alike. Thanks and I’ll looking forward to more! 🔥 ✌😎❤

Hello Jade! 🤗🌹 Thank you so much! ✨Lol- The trial and error was for real on this one! 😂 It took me 3 times to get that bubble! … but I’m glad I kept going! (just like blowing studio glass….but completely different at the same time! 😂😂💫 ) There are so many times where I find myself in that “just make it work” moment! …and in those moments I always learn something that helps refine the process. 🌈 and staying positive is most important…though sometimes I forget and have to step away!😵‍💫😂 I love that you are also a fellow glassblower! ✨✨✨That’s awesome! 💫 I am honored that you have been enjoying the demos, Jade! Your comment just made my day! 🙏🏽🌹🌹 Cheers- Robin 🌈👋🏽

Hi Robin, my genius friend this truly does remind me of a shell. At one point I did think you could have done with a set of mini Parchoffi’s lol to make your life easier. But this piece came out wonderful as always. I hope you are doing ok and you are not in pain. I also hope that both your parents loved their gifts. How’s Patrick doing and can you say hi to him for me please I also hope he’s not in pain too. Hope your sleep has got better my friend. Are you enjoying your time on the torch? Stay safe and look after yourselves ❤️ 🌹

Hi Kelly! 🤗✨ These were a lot of fun to explore! It was exciting to play with a bubble in this way…I’m so used to things being a perfect uniform shape, so these were a welcome change for me! 😃 My studio glassblowing skills really came in handy here (but is not necessary to achieve these forms) Things are good here but as you know, the aches and pains never truly disappear…we just move forward in life learning how to deal with it! 😂🌹🌹 Patrick says hello and hope you are well! 👋🏽💫 My mom absolutely loved the pendant and I’m putting Dads marble in the post tomorrow so he will get it before Father’s Day. I hope all is well with you and that your pain is manageable today!! 🌈 Sending you big hugs my friend! 🤗🙏🏽✨✨Cheers - Robin ✨🌹🌹🌹

@@scottwoodresearch it brilliant that you loved playing with this form and making it but also that your glass blowing skills came in handy. It’s wonderful to hear that your mom loved the pendant that you made for her and it doesn’t surprise me as it was a truly beautiful piece of artwork to wear. I’m very much sure your dad is going to love his Father’s Day present as well. You are right as well the aches and pains never do go away but you do learn to live with them but it just sucks in life that people with chronic pain have to do that. I myself am out of action at the moment, I stood up about a week ago and bent forward about a couple of mm and grabbed my bench block and then stood back up straight then move slightly to grab my chasing hammer by reaching out my arm and moving my back again again only a mm and my whole back just went fully out. It’s that bad that the simple things are taking my legs out and I’m dropping to the floor and the pain is excruciating plus my legs, feet arms and hands keep going numb plus other parts of me. I probably just aggravated my T7 & T8 in my spine that are pressing on my spinal cord plus other disks that are encroaching on my spinal cord. It’s just unbelievably annoying as it’s slowing me down. I’m also annoyed as I’m having major issues on sorting ID to get my website up and running atm. I’m glad to here apart from the aches and pains your doing ok tho and enjoying your time on the torch and had so much fun on this piece and that is what making glass is about is enjoying the process and not letting it stress you out at all. Can’t wait to see what piece your ingenious mind comes up with next my friend. Stay safe and take care of yourself both you and Patrick. Also keep enjoying your time on the torch ❤️ 🌹

@kellytomic5372 Hi Kelly! 💫🌹 I’m sorry to hear that your back went out again! That’s awful😞 I hope you’re feeling a bit better today! It’s crazy that you can move just a tiny bit and mess everything up. I know the feeling! Patrick has had 2 surgeries on his neck and lower back….it was years ago and he still has pain. He has degenerative disc disease and the surgeries have helped to slow it down….so they claim. I hope you can get your website figured out soon…computers can be so frustrating!! Sending you positive vibes and hugs from afar!🌹🌈 Take care my friend!!

@@scottwoodresearch I feel for Patrick so much with his back and thank you for your extremely kind and sweet words about how much I’m suffering. Unlike Patrick I’ve not had surgery on my back they have told me I have to wait till I’m over 40 which is when my youngest child will be over 18 and can look after themselves basically. The website is just a matter of getting a document uploaded but the website that it needs uploading to is being finky about the document picture so I’m having to wait for my dad to go back to work so he can scan it and send it me as a Jpg so there are no lines showing in the picture. Your bearing in mind this is a 20 year old document that they don’t want lines in eugh. This is just for ID so I can set my website up. Hope both you and Patrick are having a good day today and you are having a lot of fun and creative time on the torch. Please say hi to Patrick for me ❤️ 🌹
