After drying dug peanuts I show here how to brine and roast them making fresh peanuts tasting so much better than old ones purchased in the store.

I accidentally bought 25 pounds of raw peanuts for the birds, so since they, couldn’t possibly eat THAT many peanuts, I thought I would try to make some of them for us humans. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video because I wouldn’t have known how to process them without your help! Thanks so much for going to the trouble to make this video so others like myself can learn a new and exciting skill! Great job!

It is not a requirement to soak peanuts for 10 hours before we eat them is it ? We can just rinse them and eat them if we want to, correct ?

Morning Chuck , I really like the pictures at the beginning . that is very nice area you live in .I tried unroasted peanuts one time ,did not like them at all .

They taste very bean like. Not something that is very tasty at all. I wouldn't grow peanuts again as they are a lot of work for little reward. It was something fun to try. Thanks for watching as always Dick. Have a great Sunday. Stay well.

Do you know ... instead of drying the peanuts out of the garden first for a couple of weeks, could you open them right away and roast them in a pan on the stove? It may be hard to find a spot to dry all of mine first.

Peanuts need to be cured. Commercially they are dried at 95 F until their moisture content is quite low. Only after curing are peanuts roasted. The only reference I can find for curing in an oven is here: www.wikihow.com/Dry-Peanuts?amp=1

I don’t get it. What’s the big deal with roasted peanuts? Do they even taste all that different? How much difference can there actually be? That’s like roasting a rock. It just doesn’t make sense to roast peanuts this way unless you roast them in oil and throw some seasoning on them. That’s the only thing I can think of. I mean do they even get warm? I still want to try it though I’ve never really tried it.
