Thank you for sharing your professional expertise in Lightscape Lighting. You're the true light! I finished watching the 6 parts of 7 after which I was able to install my first six fixtures of 6watts Doreio lights on a daisy chain connected to a 60watts transformer. The connection was a success! But the lights did not have the much brightness I was looking for. Because the bulbs were integrated with the fixture, I couldn't change to bulbs with higher wattage. I am thinking of getting the Volts Lights and would appreciate it if you can recommend one that would give me brightness and a higher-foot candle even if I have to upgrade my transformer.

Most important thing! About half the failures I see are from bad connectors. I use two different connectors on jobs. 1) king Innovations Dryconn - a combination crimp and heat shrink. Takes a bit of time, and requires multiple tools (crimper, heat gun or blowtorch), but it gives a really strong mechanical connection so you won't lose it if something yanks on the wire, it's just about the best insulation + waterproofing you can get, it adds very little bulk (important for above-ground applications; I'm currently running surface mounts along some roof eaves and it's very important to maintain a low profile), and you can easily use the larger sizes to splice together multiple lines. 2) 3M scotchlocks. A little pricy (~.90 per unit), but solid mechanical connection, grease waterproofing, fast and easy to install (just takes channel lock pliers). Perfect for connecting a single light to a main run. My go to, as long as they can be buried.

Exactly what I was looking for. I suppose I'll use the water proof nut for now since that's what lowes has =). I'm surprised my kichler lights come with the non water proof connectors and don't warn you about that

Make sure you use electrical tape on the water proof nuts. Yeah, not sure why the kichler lights doesn't come with water proof covers.

The worst thing about wire nuts is they can come off and cause shorts/failure

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with DC lights. I would stick with a normal landscape lighting system.

Yikes, this lighting project is getting expensive. 15 bucks for each connector.

It should be $15 for a bag of 25 connectors. Which connectors are you buying because that is really expensive!
