So fucking true man. This is what being a man is. Being there for and loving those around you no matter what comes your way. Any of the extra bullshit pushed our way isn’t worth anyone’s time; a real man tackles the world with kindness and understanding, and even if you aren’t appreciated straight away for what you’re contributing, one day you will be. Evelyn and Joy might have been the ones to physically turn into rocks, but Waymond was the real rock that kept it all together.

Evelyn in the main universe lived an unhappy and unfulfilling life. Throughout her journey she does realize that she will never find a version of herself that is perfect. Throughout all the universe (except for the one where people have hotdogs for fingers), Waymond was always her source of enlightenment. Waymond shows Evelyn that the key to fulfillment is to simply see the good in things. Your life may not be perfect, but you can always find something in it to love. This is how Evelyn was able to save her daughter, through love and acceptance

evelyn thought that she had happiness in her other potential lives because of the material possessions they had that she didnt. waymond is so beautiful because he helps evelyn realize that the people and the relationships she has are what bring life joy. her relationships with waymond and joy are far more valuable and precious than any material items or fame could ever be.

Maybe because when we’re confused or feel like things are out of our control, it’s too easy to blame ourselves. “I should have known better.” “I should have done better.” “I should have been better.” Even if we don’t know how we could have done better, or if it even really was our fault.

Yes, yes, yes. Exactly this. Middle aged man here, weeping buckets in the protective darkness of the cinema, and then every time since at home or when watching KZfaq reaction videos - for which I am constantly on the lookout and of which I have only just found yours. You weren’t wrong when you said love stuff hits you hard - your reaction is possibly the most heartfelt I’ve seen - but who could fail to be hit right in the emotions? This film has the most extreme concepts, staggeringly inventive visuals, the most hilarious and sometimes profane comedy, imagination to burn, and yet the thing I take away from it, and always will, is the human connection. This scene, and Evelyn standing up to her father and introducing Becky as Joy’s girlfriend get me every damn time. I love this movie.

If he was so content with his existence then he wouldn’t have filed a divorce to begin with. You missed the whole point of this scene, the point is that no one knows the pain and suffering of a different path. No matter how rosie your views of the world are, you’ll always suffer in ways that you can’t imagine. This scene shows that he was too naive for his own good by haphazardly announce that he would enjoy doing tax and laundry with her (he wouldn’t).

The sequence that always puts a little smile on my face is the one where Evelyn in a fit of anger or frustration, smashed that large front window into a million pieces, a lot of which fall inside the laundromat. How does Waymond react? Lots of guys would scream at her, insult her intelligence, and condemn her stupidity. Waymond? He says nothing, gets a broom and dustpan, and starts cleaning up. That demonstrated the way he fights. The blaiming, the anger, and any sort of verbal or physical aggression, wouldn't get the pieces of glass off the floor of the laundromat. It's what good men do. We fix things, quietly, with no need to be acknowledged.

In the movie it's actually the reverse, being nice all the time is really hard. I love how this movie resonates with current times, where we see hurt and evil all the time. It takes a lot to go through life and stay positive and be kind constantly, but this movie shows that in the end kindness prevails. Very admirable that sets the standard on how we should be living.
