Lauren Pires is an award-winning invisible disability speaker and PR & Media Lead for the largest South Asian festival in Canada, #BollywoodMonster Mashup. Born with Central Core Disease, a rare neuromuscular disorder, Lauren has about 33% strength of the average person, but is known for her enthusiasm, yay-saying and 100% spirit.
Lauren recently competed in Speaker Slam, North America's largest inspirational speaking competition, where her story about dating with an invisible disability landed her a spot in the Grand Slam inspirational speaking finals in November. Her story has been featured on RareDiseaseDay.org, and recently on CityNews Toronto for her participation in the Invisible Disabilities Association's Walk and Roll, where she's raising $2,000 by walking the most she's ever walked in a month.
