With the release of The Jinx Part 2 let's take a look back to the Robert Durst trial. Robert Durst stands trial for the 2000 murder of friend Susan Berman. The trial began just before the pandemic in early 2020 and was halted two weeks in. The restart happened May 17, 2021, with the same jury panel.
The defendant’s wife Kathleen McCormack Durst went missing in 1982. Evidence and testimony would show that Robert Durst killed her, the prosecutor said. The defendant allegedly told Berman it was an accident and asked her for help. She served as his alibi.
Berman, 55, was shot execution-style at her Beverly Hills home in 2000, and the prosecution suggested that it was because of what she knew about Kathleen’s death and disappearance. As defense lawyer Dick DeGuerin would have it, however, Durst is innocent. His client only came across the body, panicked, and fled, he maintained.

@Stephanie Ella bobs liars, sorry i mean lawyers lol, knew they were screwed with that letter, so they changed their 'story' and said bob DID write it, but he definitly didnt kill susan! Next bob will say that he definitly DID write the letter and he definitly DID kill susan, BUT HE KILLED HER IN SELF DEFENCE LMFAO!!!!. Law is a dirty buisness that has little to do with truth and everything to do with money.

It seems that at certain points Mr. Oliver has a hard time keeping his eyes open. I can’t stop watching this even though he is completely obnoxious, annoying, uncooperative and a terrible witness!

I am so sorry, his testimony is in favour of the Jury decision because it is clear that he is here to cover Mr. DURST actions. I am sure they shared a lot of experiences with women and more than this. It have to receive a legal correction for his untrue testimony.

I was listening this testimony last night, live, and i can say that it was a big jock. This person told lies from the beginning at the end of his testimony. It is an affront to the Court, the Jury and all of us. His weak voice and ostile attitude is relevant.

Can you expand on your claim about lies. He was threatened with violence to appear, is he under an obligation to answer questions?(has he not answered, if he did not appear men with guns would show up hence the violence) The judge has already demonstrated a bias against this witness, he admitted that he has formed his opinion, after all he is supposed to be FAIR IMPARTIAL AND AN INDEPENDENT DECISION MAKER I am English though forgive me if i am wrong like our court system its the mad hatters tea party when in court

I agree. Something is in it for him for sure. He made it clear that he doesn't do anything for nothing! Durst's winning fist chant he gave was ignorant and arrogant. I hope jurors saw it!

Camera lenses have a flattening effect, this court is apparently the same one used in the OJ trial - even if it’s not it’s one of the biggest in the LA county court house, it’s *big*!

Oliver has no other option than to respond in the manner he did. The prosecutors strategy was to overwhelm him with information to possibly get Oliver to answer in a way that COULD delegitimize or incriminate him. How could any of you expect to remember all of these details about an incident from 20/30 (?) years ago? On top of this, the judge is ok with this tactic.
