COUNT 8: Hiding a Corpse
A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

all those lies just caught up and he knew his dad would find out, his girlfriend will break up with him and everyone who "thought' they knew him, really didnt. So killing his parents wasnt just based off him finding out, but others around him too...Its sad situation. Being a bum playing video games. He could had gotten a job and been honest right after telling his parents that he flunked out. It was too hard....instead he lead everyone on...lie after lie after lie...and to sit there and drag these people through court is sad..now you want to appeal?. he hired a new attorney...he knew he killed them..hes seen in that area. hes seen in the home with the fireplace burning in his home where he left a piece of skull behind...its his rifle..i mean, you cant get anymore guilty.

Unless the daughter knew... She was in the house the day he burned his parents remains in the fireplace. Neighbors 3 houses down could smell that unmistakable smell, but she, who was in the house right next to the fireplace, couldn't? Also, she lied about buying ice. Also, she offered to help Chandler load the car to take to the dump, but when questioned about it, she claims she can't remember what he was loading into the car. Very convenient for her. Also, when the police picked her up to talk to her about the missing parents, at which point everyone thought they were just missing, she was crying hysterically and throwing up. That's bizarre to say the least. And lots of other details, important details that she claims she couldn't remember in her testimony. Very convenient to say the least.

The prosecutor himself stated in closing arguments that Cat wasn’t involved in any way. It’s common for people to blame women in these cases, even women who have been abducted or were used as unwitting accomplices, and call them complicit even with absolutely no evidence. It’s base libel, and it further victimizes people who will be affected by violent crime for the rest of their lives. Shameful.

Where on earth did you get all that you just said? She wasn't there that day while he was burning them... I'm not even going to dispute what I know you said is BS so where did you get your info.? Comprehension must be one of your weak points. You think because you type a bunch of crap that isn't true that people will just believe you? And her throwing up was while she was in the other room talking to detectives about how he had been acting lately and she threw up because she found out what he did. They told her what he did. The prosecutor actually said that she was not only vomiting information for them, she was really vomiting. She showed the screen shot of his being out where he claimed to her that he was getting CBD but he was actually dumping some of his mom. She asked him what the smell was.. so where on earth did you hear otherwise? I know I'm likely not going to get a reply from you with an answer that makes sense. Actually it will likely be crickets.

38:25 Her long pause here absolutely broke my heart. The things Chandler put her through, being made to feel dirty when he came into the pool despite her and her partner not wanting him there to see her topless. He shattered her idyllic, peaceful view of her home, her sanctuary, because that wretched man thought nothing of exploiting their kindness and dumping his parents on her property. I'd bet dollars to donuts that Chandler was going to try and pin the murders on her, Kris, or Cat because of that.

this is one of the first testimony’s I’ve ever watched where I had to pause the video and step away. Dulce is the most genuine and caring women and you can see it during this singular video. It’s clear to see how cat grew into the well spoken, caring, loving, and forgiving person she was while with chandler. When the defense attorney objected a simple portion of the testimony and you could see her worry that she did something wrong or said something incorrectly and it’s just a reminder how scared and isolated she probably feels on the stand and I love that the prosecutor kept it lighthearted and swatted her worries away because he picked up on that. Something is so vulnerable about her and it rips my heart to pieces to see her sitting up there so small but so strong doing her best to help.

Cat's mother is so caring and sweet. It really would have helped to have a translator for her. Yes, she speaks English well. But she obviously had a lot of anxiety and emotion (very understandably). So even though she speaks and understands English well, it's still her 2nd language and so it just adds another layer on top of her anxiety and fear to have to filter everything she says through English. Being able to speak in her native tongue would have just taken off a bit of pressure I think. I can't believe how many wonderful and caring people Chandler was surrounded by. How could he do this to all of them?

her and her daughter Cat were talking with Chandler in November Cat was putting money on his phone card in jail so he could call her whenever he could. in one call Cat talks about not going to see a movie until he gets out because she wanted to watch it with him. the mother was just as bad disgusting plans for what he could do when he got out. considering what they must have known at that point they both sounded delusional. they talked to him on thanksgiving and had a pity party on the call because the jail served sloppy joes for dinner, and he didn't like them. search Chandler Halderson jail calls if interested.

They were in denial. It's not uncommon and many people have had this happen to them when someone they love did something absolutely horrendous. It doesn't make them bad people. I was thinking the same thing. Having a home and property of that size takes dedication. And one must be motivated daily to perform some type of manual labor just to maintain, much less beautify the residence and land. I know from experience, I inherited a “farm” unexpectedly and it is work. So I commend this lady for her hard work and making her place somewhere that exudes pride. And then some young punk comes along and defiles the property and interrupts her peace with such horror bc he didn’t want to confess to his parents that he was lying about his day to day life. Not to mention the strain it placed on her relationship with Dulce. I hope Chandler thinks about her and what he did to her every day of his life.

There are so many other "wooded areas" to dump the "torso" yet he decided to put the "torso" in the property of the girlfriend of the mother of his girlfriend. He also left the rifle in her shed. I think he didn't like her and wanted to give her a turmoil. Also, he could have put other parts such as leg(s) or arm(s) instead of a torso in there but he selected "torso." I think there was a sick intension other than just dumping a body part.
