I'm commenting from the future from the year 2028 Creme just won worlds by getting 2 pentakills 1v5 against team Logan Paul, JKL and Tian are getting inducted into the HoL after winning their 4th worlds title a year ago and 369 just got his 500th international solokill. Lastly Meiko just bought the rights to Thresh so every Thresh main belongs to him now.

Just to add to what monte said, i graduated high school in 2020, at that time, our esports team for League consisted of me (master-gm) and 4 players all around gold. The next highest rank player in the 5 school league, was ranked diamond. Its really doomed.

Monte is right about esport in high school. My nephew is in an esport program in high school in Canada. He played a few games of LoL because of my brother and I, but that was it. He plays Valorant and orhers I forget. All three of us haven’t played LoL in months. Dom admits that he hates the game repeatedly. It is a job for him. Viewership is going down in part due to people like us. Still watching, not playing; how long before we quit watching?

What I really don’t understand is why Zven was never brought back to C9. It would have been a hard sell to get him back on support but I honestly think it would be better for the team if they tried to sell Berserker back to an LCK team and got Zven as adc just so the team has some semblance of macro. Fudge had to go to but it feels like they didn’t solve the main issue that the team had. Maybe the coaches can fix that problem this split i guess we will see.

I was disappointed in doms take during the TL-TES series shitting on how bad TL was. Then the next 2 days BLG and GenG get the benefit of the doubt because they hadn’t played on stage in a month. Last time I checked NA had the most time off from stage games.

The problem isn't that Spica took eXyu's LCS spot, the problem is that BOTH of them should have spots in the league right now (we looking at you Immortals & Shopify) - but DIG screwed over eXyu's chances of finding a new landing spot. The way it all went down was the big issue.

One thing Riot could do to make MSI matter to the populace is to give the MSI winner either 1 skin for the whole team or each player gets a skin. I sometimes scroll through the skins Catalog and forget that MSI even exists because i only see Worlds every few skins. I think even the casual fan sees for example the T1 Jayce skin that will be releasing and remember that T1 won worlds etc. No casual fan remembers that MSI exists (more or less).

league died in NA the second they starting removing all pizza feet from the game. The last straw to me was twitch visual rework and him losing his pizza feet. I do genuinely believe if riot just stopped touching the game anytime between season 2-5, the game would still be really big in NA. It would be cool if they released a legacy server but it wont ever happen and the game will just die more and more in NA.

The fact that Knight was fucking irrelevant in the entirety of both series vs GenG (apart from one Ahri game) despite 4v1ing Chovy in one game, Chovy tanking 7 bans in one game etc yet doesn't even get criticised shows how ridiculous it is to put him in the same sentence as Chovy. Knight is a good supportive player. But that's all. The individual super star on BLG is Bin and the consistent carries are Elk+On. People call Knight "world class" yet when he's matched up against a giga inting Faker, the one who has to carry is Bin, who is matched up against Zeus in a non-topcarry meta. That says it all.

Now i think about how worlds nearing the end was always boring honestly comes to the finals always being bad. within the time of 2018-2023 only 1 final was truly a good match up PRE-GAME DAY, which would have been edg and dwg. HOWEVER, cause drx won vs t1 that made it a fun final of the 5 games played because what should have been a David v. goliath felt more like a competitive match. that just looking back now but now with the new msi systems without fail twice was a good final each time even without it being all 5 games.

Bwipo is not a better player than Jensen, lol, please, this is a terrible opinion, you guys are biased because your buddies with Bwipo and he comes out on talk shows like this. Bwipo runs it down almost every single game. he is greedy, he never helps his team, he plays strong side regardless if its weak or strong in actuality, he doesn't play around jungler, clearly is the shotcaller for these horrific bonobo level calls that flyquest makes all the time, thinks he is the carry every game, has no sense of where the enemy jungler is. he thinks he has a champion ocean but loses on every champ not named Renekton. he keeps picking non meta champs and loses lane haard, he takes TERRIBLE trades in lane early on and pretty much loses lane for the rest of the game and becomes useless. he was easily the 2nd worst player on flyquest this year after Busio. This is textually what T1 stans have been telling me this past week on social media: "Gen.G (or LPL last year) can keep MSI, Worlds is the only tournament that matters." They can't even fathom a tournament with better format being more prestigious than Worlds. Just because "they" (only Faker) have 4 Worlds titles, they believe only Worlds counts. Fuck LCK Spring, fuck MSI, fuck LCK Summer; only one tournament in one patch played in one month is the only important tournament in the eyes of those mentally ill stans. It's so fucking annoying.

2023 was lpl for sure lpl destroyed worlds. T1 was the only lck team that made it out of quarters with 3 lpl teams in semis plus all lpl final in msi. 2021 is way more debatable with lck outperforming lpl in worlds but lpl winning both international tournaments.@@yasuoarima6022

interesting. I've been following the competitive scene since 2014 and I had a completely different impression of this MSI. It was a boring championship. BLG underperformed, T1 underperformed, TOP underperformed. GENG won easily, without much effort and without trying too hard

Fun fact: GenG played more games to win MSI than T1 did to win worlds (16-15). GenG also played more games against superior opponents too, compared to T1 in their worlds run. (GenG playing 8 games vs Seed 1 teams, and 8 games vs Seed2 team, while T1 only played 5 games against Seed1 teams and 3 games against Seed2 teams).

League is fun with friends ranked or otherwise, playing solo and needing to rely on people you dont know who are willing to just lose the game at the most minor of inconveniences makes the game not worth playing for anyone who has limited time to play in a day, and if you do duo god forbid you arent the exact same rank because you can duo climb but eventually just cant play together anymore so why bother. You also get nothing from playing ranked except a chore, like congrats you hit diamond now manage your decay for a rank that means nothing... I personally think they should just merge solo and flex queues, it will fk up the ladder but honestly with the decline of pro play in NA you need to just prioritize getting people to want to play your video game... and nobody who is sane wants to play solo queue instead of with their friends if possible. League can be fun but in the last year or so actually striving for the top is not fun not rewarding and you just have no reason to put yourself through that at all.

Dom didnt defend TES though. His point was that he rated them 4th-5th before MSI so from his pov they r not massive frauds bcs they finished at their expected "ranking" and bcs G2 played rly well vs them.
