Ok story, my granddads old landlord was a very powerful guy but he would always complain about this one guy, who was a different landlord so it was like landlord warfare, but they HATED each other and they would openly argue with each other, but anyway these are two rich, powerful, angry men and so when my granddads landlord went away to his summer home the other landlord fucking payed, quite a bit of money, to put an obituary for my granddads landlord in the newspaper, now this was before phones so there was no way to check if this was true so everyone was shocked and then finally my granddads landlord came home and everyone was.. surprised to say the least and then he wasn’t very happy to learn that everyone thought he was dead

Honestly the girl who fell in love with that much older guy (for her age) isn’t that weird, that happens all the time. That said, at that age when you have no knowledge of love and/or any control/maturity over your emotions, we would just consider that to be someone’s first infatuation. It would most likely be pretty intense and obsessive though, a persons first crush usually is.

I think the biggest problem is just that it's all applying labels to abstract feelings, so there might not be a perfect descriptor for every person's unique mentality.

As an arospec, how I determine it is by imagining myself in a romantic relationship with that person. Would I want to go on dates with them? Would I like to kiss them? How would I feel about calling them my boyfriend/girlfriend/partner? How would I feel about them calling me their partner? How would I feel about getting romantically sensual? If my feelings towards being in a romantic relationship with that person range from "disgust" to "indifference," I can usually say that I do not have a crush. If my feelings are somewhere in the "oh my god that would be so wonderful" area, I do have a crush. This is my personal way of determining romantic attraction and may not work for you, but I hope it helps in some way.
