Please make a video on the appropriate spikes! Not only is it helpful but it’s such a big topic too! ☝️ And of course, thank you for the awesome Vlog 😎💭

100-800m maxflys, 800-1600m New Balance MDX/air zoom victorys, 800-10km dragonflys. There’s some overlap, but it comes down to preference there. At least this is from my experience after running in all of them.

The shakeout run is important on race day because it helps wake your body up and get it activated. You do it before you eat because it helps your body absorb nutrients from your meal better. Absolutely insane that y’all are all running comfortably sub-9 and I’m just trying to break 10 for the first time at states on tuesday.

My favorite workout from highschool was running 10 200m repeats with 2 min rest. They say you can hold whatever pace you did in an 800. It was the pace I got in our relay but way harder to do than I thought. Definitely a good workout for that inbetween regionals and states timeframe. I'd been getting faster throughout the year so it lets you know what pace to start out at or at least to go for in the first half if you don't really know. Not a shakeout so much as a timetrial so you should have a week or more to recover. Just reminiscing. Surprising to see these fast young runners are all vloggers. It's welcome though. Got high hopes for your crew at NBP. Maybe the vlogging can make the sport more popular?

Newbury park seems like a magical place where high school runners' dreams come true. Does distance running hurt there? It doesn't. 4 minute miles? Of course! 14 minute cross country times? Absolutely! And for the whole squad? Yes! At Newbury Park fantasy becomes reality.

Obersation from an 800 enthusiast. Aaron appears to have the best leg turnover/natural 400 speed of the group. Barring injury I think his Sr. yr holds unlimited potential in the 800. I'm not sure what his 400 PB is but if he can run a 48.5-49 I think he could run a sub 1:47.5 next yr.

Nice video! I had commented on another video about my goal to break 4:30 for the mile, thanks for the advice, but now I've just been diagnosed with patellar tracking disorder. It sucks, because I likely wont be able to compete in enough races to qualify for districts and states, but I still want to keep aerobic fitness. What should I do to stay in shape while I can't run for a month or so?
