Well, given that the sword of truth first few books are basically plagiarism of wheel of time, just done worse, the mord siths are pretty much a direct copy of the sul'dam so... she was spot on, since this show is also a strange version of wheel of time done worse.

Yep. All Aiel warriors have short-cropped hair with a long tail in the back. I'm convinced the idiots writing this show had a toddler tell them the story after hearing a summary of the Cliff's Notes told to the toddler by someone who can barely understand English.

This show is some of the worst writing I have ever had to endure. If you like this, you should raise your standards. This is not just bad from a book reader perspective, this is bad writing from the perspective of anyone who has ever read anything. It's really really bad. Raise your standards. You deserve better. You aren't a mindless consumer that just devours whatever is put in front of you and asks for more. You are a intelligent human being with the ability of discernment. It's okay to have high standards for your time and money. You are better than this.

But it IS okay to identify bits you do enjoy. The show isn't ALL hot garbage. It's like 90% hot garbage :P The only praise I REALLY have for the show is that it introduced more people to the books :P And the books REALLY are much better, nm how much idiots will complain about "the slump" (basically, the middle books get a little too repetitive and meandering and could have done with some strong editing. But it was when RJ was becoming more ill, so... I'd rather we have those books than he got bogged down in editing and completed fewer himself nm how much I adore Sanderson. There are quite large plots that could be removed for an adaptation and people wouldn't mind. The prophet. The Shaido. The carnival. The multiple repeats of "novices on the run." Far Madding. Matt in Altara... There's six ENORMOUS plot threads than can be almost entirely removed with no real issue, bc as awesome as SOME of it is, especially the Shaido stuff, you HAVE to make sacrifices :P If I had time to go through with a team of well paid writers and a few lore experts, I'm FAIRLY sure I could cut a little more out. Maybe whitecloak stuff?)

The writing HAS been much better this season... MUCH better... As for how bad the show actually is... that's mostly the failure of the writers in season 1. For a little perspective on that, ask yourself a few questions... If they killed off ALL of the main characters... Rand, Mat, Perrin, Nynaeve, Egwene... would you really care? If they killed Lan and Moron... oops, Moiraine... would you care? Do you understand the magic system at all? What are "the stakes"? Do you know? @redhex__1738

@DmGray the faster this show is cancelled, the sooner they can try again. There is nothing redeeming about this show other than it introduces people to the books who then can see why the book readers don't like the show. I had a friend who loved the show, and he binged the whole series on audio. Now he thinks the show is worse than I do and I cancelled my Prime membership over this show. It's not just that this show is bad, it's that the longer it goes, the longer it will be until we get a real adaptation. It's tarnishing the Wheel of Time IP which might make real studios hesitant to touch it.

@@nyetzdyec3391my non-reader partner enjoys the second season quite a bit and is able to follow the story. First season was painful, but even I as a reader think they improved a lot in the current season. Based on reactions i watched it seems that mainly people who read the books dislike the adaptation. And I can understand why. But most of the non-reader reactions seem to be able to follow the story and the magic system without any issues so far.

She just loves pandering to those who think the show can't be nearly as good as the books and who complain about the diversity. In her season 1 recap she literally starts by making a snarky comment about how there's diversity. It seems like everyone in these comments seem to forget that even people who enjoy the books have their issues with the books, with a lot of people saying books 5-9 are a drag to get through.

Grow a sense of humor.
