The problem is that Iran was never under continuous pressure.. different US governments had different approaches towards Iran, in some cases polar opposite ones. For a ruthless totalitarian regime, surviving 4-8 years of limited economic sanctions isn’t much of a problem.. if the sanctions pressure would’ve been steady over the past 15-20 years most likely this regime would’ve been long gone.. but it’s the never ending problem of the west, analyzing the muslim world through a western prism, instead of swallowing the bitter pill which is that muslims view the world in a very different way than the west does.
@bigpapi6688
@bigpapi6688 5 ай бұрын
Yes yes yes 100%. That’s my only problem with democracy. On some certain issues, 4-8 years simply isn’t enough time to see a plan through. You’d think Iran is an issue that should be bipartisan, but unfortunately not. Just as you said, the ideals and morals simply aren’t the same as those of the west. And no amount of concessions will take Iran from a tyrannical anti-human rights regime, to a liberal democracy that believes in the rights of average people

Ben has a much better handle and knowledge of the ME here and some just can't give Trump credit where it's due. TDS is a thing. It all seems to circle back to Iran, and they need to be dealt with in the only way they understand, waiting until they have nukes is a real bad idea... Everyone with a brain knows going into Iraq a second time was a massive failure of US policy, never should have happened. Also has nadda to do with Trump.

I don't understand how being economic partners equates to being in friendly terms. China and Taiwan have trade relationships with each other but they still have military tensions. They wanted those places because their close to the Russian border & are ethnic Russians. They tried to annex them in 2014 & they denied it & a coup happened that's when Russia seized Crimea. That's when the war started. So Ukraine bombed that region killing like 15.000 people so Russia stepped in to defend them. When they went back to Ukraine a few years back the people were cheering as the Azov military were hiding out in their towns putting tanks beside their houses & Russia was bombing them by mistake. That's why went in to take those places back.

What this debate highlights is the hubris of Americans when discussing international events. One side believes that America is responsible for everything good that happens or ever has happened, while the other says that America is responsible for everything bad that happens or ever has happened. Good lord you're one country, with very limited influence outside of the western world. The American president isn't even the most powerful, important or influential American, in America. Obama, Trump or Biden, are not especially significant figures in regards to large scale international events, and their decisions have next to nothing to do with whether ISIS was defeated or not, or whether Iran will egg on Hamas and Hezbollah to poke the bear of Israel.

Destiny was woefully unprepared for this… These 2 are in different categories/weight-classes. Destiny is more suited to debate people like Charlie Kirk or Candace Owens rather than heavy hitters like Ben. Not fair at all.

Shapiro definitely has some psychological issues. Pay close attention to his facial expressions and eye movement, and the way he speaks. I guess you'll need more knowledge in the area to make any conclusions, but for someone who has seen and worked with lots of individuals in this field, this man is certainly not healthy.
