I just rewatched the Diane Sawyer Brit Spears interview and this video was SUCH a refresher. You both are so much more professional and compassionate than most “professional” interviewers. Also you ask great follow up questions that actually sound like you’re listening and not just waiting to speak. Love y’all ❤

1:11:36 the way that cat (Bernie?) transplants himself seamlessly into Megan’s lap is both sweetly humorous and also incredibly apt for this channel: an earnest approach of comforting blond affection sourced in mutual respect

This was so fascinating, and Megan had so much knowledge to give! I grew up Catholic and got "confirmed" in 8th grade only to have a major reset in my beliefs the following year, so I really resonated with what y'all were saying about literal children supposedly being able to consent/choose their beliefs independent of their families and environment.

Megan, you're so smart and wise, and it's inspiring to hear about your journey. I came from a different high control group, and a different family full of secrecy and trauma--and I don't know how much this means from a stranger on the internet, but I believe you. I'm sorry that some people who should believe you have chosen not to. You deserved better from your family of origin, and I'm glad you have other people in your life to support you. Also, that stuff about body positivity made me realize that I'm not quite as "over" my mom's unhealthy beauty standards as I'd thought I was. Like, I'd gotten over the obsessive need to wear makeup even to get the mail, and the need to dress fem like she wanted, but I was still viewing my body through the same lens as she would. And now I know that I need to do some work on that. So thank you! Also, whenever you two have someone on your channel, I'm always impressed by how good and compassionate you are toward them. Maybe it's just that I grew up watching TV interviewers who didn't give two shits about people's feelings, but there's such a world of difference between that and videos like this. (Plus, unlike those interviewers, here there's a chance for kitty cameos, which make my whole entire day.)

Pride and arrogance hurt the Cox family. I'm better than you but also beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Two of Barry and Janice's children are now killers. Alex died, Lori is in a mental institution. Through reading text, Janice pleaded with the courts not to sentence her daughter to death. The death penalty was on the table. But somehow the prosecution didn't put it in a timely manner, so Judge Boyce sanctioned them.

1:07:19 OMG went I heard how Stacy died I immediately wondered if Alex murdered her! Was Stacy Alex's first kill? Did Alex fancy himself the Destroying Angel? A reincarnated Porter Rockwell? Porter Rockwell was Joseph Smith’s bodyguard, so did Alex think he was Lori, then Chad's bodyguard?

50:20 when I was a weird little human being a good catholic I somehow managed to find the understanding that Santa and God where the same being and the reason we got gifts on Christmas Day was because we were celebrating the birth of the son of god and we are all his children… That is the best way I can explain it if it doesn’t make sense I’m pretty sure I don’t understand the connection but little me did

Watching this reminded me of something I'd entirely forgot/repressed. My temple reccomend got taken away at 15-16(I was in it from 14-17 but those were crucial years) because I was self harming and I couldn't go to the temple if I would "defile the temple that is my body" so that was really an experience being ostracized after being love bombed so hard just a year or two prior.

It would have been fine if you'd had a breast augmentation or a tummy tuck - as long as whatever you do to your body is for the benefit of men around you then you can keep that temple recommend. I'm sorry that happened to you. You should have recieved extra attention and love, not have been ostracized. Can you imagine if someone lost their recommend because they got permanent makeup or an ear piercing? Of course not. Priesthood leaders are only supposed to accept body modifications that up your "resale" value on the mormon marriage market.
