Life is all about Energy Flow - Science and Tradition teach us this. The Panafrican Science Podcast Episode 8.
I keep reflecting on Mama Marimba Ani's description of spirituality as being (in part) the perception of the interconnectedness between all elements of the cosmos. Modern life seems to be aimed at severing that interconnection. It's about creating environments that are as insulated from the cosmos as possible. We spend our days indoors away from natural light, sounds, smells... in short, away from natural energies. While indoors we watch screens of various kinds that emit artificial light, sounds, etc. We breathe air that is quite artificial (think aircon, radiators, fans). We do not grow or rear anything much, we consume food that is produced industrially and presented to us wrapped in plastic. There are lots of other dimensions to this, including the clothes we wear, the places we sleep, even the way we wash ourselves!
Energy makes things happen, and different types of energy make different things happen. Electromagnetic energy (visible and invisible light) comes in different wavelengths and frequencies and each of those different forms of light energy are converted into specific types of energy (kinetic, thermal, chemical, etc) which then have specific effects on us. In a sense, you can say that these energies convey information to us which our conscious and subconscious selves can interpret and respond to (even communicate with).
All of this is our energy environment. And these man-made energies affect us in specific ways, individually and collectively. We are, to a huge extent, cut off from the cosmos. As a result we are cut off from meaning because meaning comes through connection with natural energies. We are living lives that are spiritually/energetically emaciated. And it's only partially by accident. I believe that the powers-that-be know all of this stuff and they know that people that are divorced from the cosmos are people that can be controlled easily (by manipulating them energetically).

Great video thus far! Really enjoyable and fantastic delivery! One comment that was a misconception was the cancer comment relating to mobile phones. Mobile phones do not have enough energy to cause ionising radiation, thus there is zero way it can cause ionisation radiation effects such like cancer growth. To make a comparison, using a phone causes less heating/damage than standing outside in the sun by a factor of nearly 1billion.

Another point was regarding Em fields from Wi-Fi, phones etc, and their potential impact on our health and conditions. I think it’s important to take a scientific approach here as this is a testable theory. First we need to see what the energy needed to impart ionising damage to your bodies cells are. Next we need to look at the wave lengths of the mentioned EM radiation, and relate those back to the energy these fields carry. When you do this, you realise that there is zero possibility of these fields imparting ionising radiation affects to the human body. There is simply not enough energy carried in the type of wave.

Also something else that should be highlighted regarding em waves, is that they follow the inverse square law. This means: For example: the energy of the em waves at 2ft away is 0.25 times the intensity at 1 foot. And 3 foot, is 0.111 times the intensity at 1 foot! If you go to 5 feet away, the energy is 0.04 times the intensity at 1 foot. So the drop off across distance is huge! It literally drops off by the square, and for near field antennas by the cube! So by the time the Em waves reach you, they barely have any of their initial energy, so they can’t do anything

Very brilliant analysis of an Africa worldview of the Cosmos and its relationships to us. Spirituality and Science is definitely interwoven.👍

This yurugu environment is so damaging. Thanks Ely for yet another thought producing podcast. I think this free form format is engaging but I also find the slides useful when you’re disseminating technical information. So both as required. Since stumbling into yours and gotkushtv my thinking has been upended and it has impacted my life in a huge way.

Great, thank you for the feedback. I will for sure incorporate some slides in future vids when necessary as it's definitely needed when we get into the more complicated ideas and concepts.

I’ve noticed babies that are born by caesarean don’t have that scent sadly.

@@elywananda It's anecdotal info. I and a few friends noticed it. There's nothing sweeter than that smell. The mother's probiotics are transmitted through the canal . I remember there used to be an old Jamaican (possibly African) tradition of not washing a newborn for a week. I think there is something to it.

@gardeniainbloom812 Of course, that makes perfect sense that C-section birthed babies would smell differently! That microbiome topic is so hugely fascinating.

Communing with nature is a concept I’ve heard many times but what does it actually mean? We and everything around us is created right? To my mind communing with the Creator is the target. Have you noticed how you can tell when a house has been unoccupied for a long period? It is the same phenomenon you notice when you see a dead body. No life. Whatever the life is in us must be more than the sum of our atoms.

I see communing with nature as firstly simply immersing ourselves in nature (and by that I just mean going outside, into environs that are as uncluttered with human invention as possible). Then we receive all the energies that are coming to us from all directions (natural sounds, smells, sights, etc). I see this as communing with nature. The more we can do that, the better because I think it somehow gets us more in tune with our own self - away from the endless noise that we are normally surrounded by. And yeah life is definitely more than just atoms. Funnily enough, in my early research into EMFs, I've seen that there's a suculture of folks who do "ghost hunting." Based on the idea that when we die, we leave a lot of "us" still here. It's much deeper than all this of course.
