Wow this is tough for me to see this. Towards the end of the video the young boy started crying. I started crying too after him and the parents holding hands together. This is emotional. I'm sure the dad will work out his drinking problems.

What a precious son. I truly hope that the father kept his promise. They seem like a very sweet family deep down that has gotten ruined by alcohol. Usually these alcoholic dads seem like absolute douchebags, but imo he seems like a good guy that sadly drowns his problems when he should be gaining energy and happiness from his family instead of alcohol. my parents has divorced, so i can relate with this kid. seeing your parents fight its the worst feeling ever, you feel there is no safe place anymore. it even worse for me because at that time i have a little brother, so after all this year i always make sure my brother keep in touch with both of my parents. and lucky for me now everything geting better and better. just dont get a kid if you are not ready both mentally and physically, because parents are everything for them

I am kind of mad how the Counselors were laughing at his problem, being like: well, we like alcohol too. Also that they made the boy also make a promise, as if he did anything wrong! You could see the dads hand shaking when he was holding the mic - because he is an alcoholic and needs rehab. This is not a problem that can be solved by a TV Show.

Alcoholics have always reasons why they drink. It's either the hard work, the stress , the moon, the sun…and they're not heavy drinkers. This guy didn't hit the bottom , so he will continue drinking. He needs professional support , but nobody can force him to go and seek support. I am sorry for his son , actually for his whole family.

The second case is interesting. Despite of the frequent parent's quarrel, the boy grows up well. He is kind and nice. It's true that his timid behavior was the result of the bad things he saw. I hope the parents can be better in the future. Fyi, children remember everything when they are young. I remembered my dad had a affair when I was 5 y.o. i remember everything : the woman's name, the house, the clothes, etc. I still think it's scary to remember those things because it was 30 years ago.

I only see my dad every once in a while, and my mum is an alcoholic (she says she isn’t though), I also have 2 younger siblings, so I really sympathise with this boy. He doesn’t deserve this at all.

He is an alcoholic, he will not stop drinking unless he receives propper psicological treatment, im so sorry for the boy, he will just have to learn how not to suffer for his parents, it will make him a colder person. I hope they got better after the show, but the most probable is that nothing has changed, cause alcoholics do a lot of promisses, but they never have the strength to keep it because of the addiction. Anyone who growed up with an alcoholic parent knows about this.

I wonder how this family doing now. My father is not a drunkard but he has a very low personality and my parents do not get along well. I am not close with my father and my mother is not good at resonating with my feelings. In some times we have a peaceful environment but most of the time not a day goes by without arguments. It never gets better. I am done with this. My brother is also not coming home now. I just wanna get out from this hell but I feel so bad for both of my parents. Who will look after them if I am also not there. Because my mother dedicated her all life Ilin educating me and my brother. I just can't let go but it sure is suffocating. No matter what I achieve in life this is gonna haunt me until I die. Even after they pass away I will continue to grieve over my family. I do want to live as if I don't give a fuck but I can't help myself. There is no out for me it seems. I'm tired to the point I just want to live alone and quite with minimum human relationships. I do not have confidence in starting a relationship too.
