Welcome to our KZfaq channel!
We are loving family that live in Bamboo Huts in Rural Thailand. Damo (me), Ryan (my husband), and Otis (Our Son) spend our days taking care of the land and the animals and enjoying each others company.

Formally Ryan worked for "The Coffee Club Thailand" Chain, but now we have opted for a simpler lifestyle, and living in "The Now". On the vlog we will show you what it is like to live in Rural Thailand, details on plants we grow on our land, and most importantly our honest and authentic selves, the good, the bad and the ugly.

Big Love,
Damo, Ryan & Tis

Hey Otis, I hope you are feeling better now. It was very nice of your Mom and Dad to take you to the hospital and get you checked out. I enjoyed watching your Dad and you look at that little 🦀 crab and centipede. Then your Mom brought you all kinds of medicine to make you all better. I enjoy watching you your Dad and Mom teach you about life and think you are so loved by them. I look forward to see what your next adventure is.

Thank you again for sharing your life with us Ryan, Dam and Otis. I always feel so relaxed after watching, although I was a bit worried about Otis. Hope his condition continues to improve. I find that the health service in Government Hospitals in Thailand is first class, even though as a Farang, I have to pay. The prescription drugs here are also quite cheap compared to many places. Love the Quail chicks, they are so cute. When you put them in a pen, make sure that there is plenty of undergrowth for them to hide away in, and a wire mesh roof as they are reasonable flyers when scared. God bless you all 🙏🙏😊

Glad Otis is going to be okay. So scary when the little ones don’t feel well. Big difference in medical fees! So cute with the hatching. Must be you playing the Sax? 👍 Partial to the Sax - 3 generation of Sax players. My son always first chair in school. Played his Dad’s Sax from his band when young. The grandfather played Sax for his own Big Band Orchestra in his Club with dancing until he passed. Music is so good for the soul.🤗

If you are a Thai citizen you only pay 30 baht (88 cents USD per visit) for medical treatment (Thai universal healthcare systems) which include everything and this plan cover every Thai citizen. Regardless of the health problem you have (from common cold to cancer or whatever). However this treatment program only can be used at public (government) hospitals so if you want to have everything your standards then you have to go to a private hospital but government will not pay a penny for you. The medical facilities may not perfect but how many country can do this? This is a place for people who can't afford a private hospital in Thailand and majority of Thai doctors used to work at these hospitals before in order to pay off their debts from medical school and move on to private practice and/or private hospital. I don't want to say "you get what you pay for" because in this case "you get more than you pay for" , if you can wait in line (a long wait in major cities hospitals), ignore the surrounding and atmosphere and/or lower your standards. Otis is a healthy strong boy growing up in healthy environment so he will be fine.

Hey Ryan, great vlog once again. Probably already said by others but quail are great flyers so if you want to keep them ‘local’ then they will need to be in a fine netted enclosure. Not sure if these little dudes can be wing clipped to prevent flying or that you would even want to do this given their size - Btw, this is based on UK quail which are bred and released into the wild and then become wild game for animals (and humans) to hunt and eat. I guess you may have produced some ‘caged birds’ buddy unless you have other plans for them.

I believe you indicated in a reply that the 30baht card health service applies also to farangs who have a Tabien Baan yellow book, but I have seen elsewhere that this was once the case but was discontinued years ago. Since your comment regarding same is so recent, I now wonder if this benefit has been reinstated; can you confirm? As a farang who will soon be moving to Thailand with his Thai wife of 30 years, and whose Medicare health benefit will not be valid in Thailand, being eligible for the 30baht program would be a great benefit. Btw, if I were about 40 years younger I would seek a life just like yours, given that my sweet wife would concur.

I wonder what the Dr.s are paid. Hope it's not $ 1.00 per year like in North Korea.

FYI, there is a lot of drug production in Thailand. including government factories So when you have a general illness The cost of treatment is therefore very cheap. Because we can produce our own medicines, including medicines at a high level, we can produce and export it.

I really love your work. Thank you. May I please ask that you look directly into the camera and not into your screen, when I the viewer see you present, your eyes are always looking slightly to your right, which is somewhat off-putting. Thanks. Garth

G'day from OZ, can our American viewers please stop crying after seeing what a national health service can actually do. In Australia, we would have not have even charged the 30 Baht, totally free.

" American viewers please stop crying" sorry youngster this Yank ain't crying, I'm quite willing to pay for treatment but your country, your choice. Having said that, visiting OZ years ago I was not impressed with your National heath care system though I felt it was far better than Britain's. Having just said that, I admit visiting Thailand I was quite imprested with their system.

Its only free if a country has a reciprecal agreement with Australia and then only a medical necessity.

@@Jim1alaska G'day Jim, I also pay for some medical. My wife and I have the highest level of private health cover as a top-up, but because Medicare covers so much, our annual private health premium for both of us is $2800 US per annum. Medicare costs 1.75% of my income. I am retired so I no longer pay for Medicare. There is great fear when Americans need medical assistance because no one knows how much the costs are going to be, how much will their insurance cover. Will they be left with a debt for many thousands of dollars.
